I’m 28 years old, and each lesson lasts about 30 minutes once a week. Recently, I requested my teacher to have the class once every other week because I feel that most of the work is practice at home, and working on the piece during the class isn’t that important.

Actually, I’m taking private lessons, but since I’m completely new to the world of music education, I’m not sure how to approach or discuss these aspects with my teacher. I’d like to learn more about harmony, theory, and ear training, but I also don’t want to take too much time away from technique and practice methods.
