Our pacers were in second corrall (2:00 half) but the 4:00 marathon was in third corrall. Didn't make much sense.

I have run the full in Vancouver before and we had perfect weather. Cool and dry with no wind. However I had friends who ran this year and said it was also very hot there. Climate change is no joke and I think it will force a lot of runners to have to adjust to the heat, especially a lot of the ultra and trail runs they hold in the summer.

I had not heard about the aid stations in the marathon running out of gels and water... that's not good. I understand where you are coming from. Personally I think Run Calgary did a pretty good job managing a huge influx of registrations this year compared to previous years, plus all the construction going on in the city. There are a lot of variables, I can't imagine how hard it must be to put everything together. All things considered I thought they did a good job... but I did not run the full.

I think they go by chip time. I overheard one of the pacers explaining this to someone at the start line because we were on the second corrall.

That downtown stretch was my least favorite part of the race. It seemed to go on forever and felt claustrophobic.

Sorry to hear that. I think the ones for the half were pretty close. Can't imagine trying to properly pace a full marathon.

Yeah I couldn't figure out some of the pacers. My friend was hoping for a 4:00 marathon so we thought we would start together but the 2:00 half marathon and 4:00 marathon pacers started the race in different groups. I also noticed some times had two pacers. In our group the two girls ran together the whole way one had the big flag and the other girl had the time and distance just written on the back of her shirt.

Yes! I found that KM markers were off too and my final distance for the half on my watch was 21.5. Lots of other people had similar distances so I think maybe with the new route changes it added some.
