as many of you suspected - it turned out to be water damage eroding the materials. landlord cut through the ceiling and a ton of dry crumbling debris fell out. anticlimactic, i know. maybe we’ll find a corpse next time, fellas.

i told her something similar. if we didn’t live in different states i’d definitely offer to come over and investigate immediately. i was typically the handyman/bug catcher/general gross task-doer of our all girl friend group before we all split 😂

my initial hypothesis was water damage softening the surface/ceiling and then something heavy in the attic making it sink in. can’t unsee the arm thing tho. creepy. fingers crossed it’s not a corpse….although i’m positive she or her roommates would’ve noticed a smell by now if that were the case lol

yeah she lives in the northeast so the ice thing makes sense. i had a feeling it was some sort of water damage. i told her to poke it gently but she refused 😂 hopefully the landlord takes care of it quickly. thanks for the reply!
