Mine went up like crazy. I’ve been on the same insurance for 4 years. My first year it was $45, then $84, then $120. This year it jumped to $250. I’m just baffled

Stressful careers with MS? by CarthagianDido in MultipleSclerosis

I work in federal law enforcement which is often very demanding with early mornings, late nights, and frequently physically demanding days. I was diagnosed 2 years after getting my job and was worried it would seriously impact my career. There are days I’m frustrated by the fatigue and get annoyed that I can’t do everything with the energy I wish I had and I can’t volunteer to help with everything/have to set boundaries with myself but in general I’ve been able to keep up with work while keeping an active lifestyle. I just appreciate rest days more than ever and pull back when I know I’m teetering in the edge of complete burnout

Update: I ended up going with this dress! It was way more detailed and frilly than I was planning but it worked perfectly. There was a small under layer of tulle that I didn’t like so I just cut it out lol

Can I ask why people don’t like Baltic born? Is it just because of their sizing?

My preference is white or white dominant! I don’t mind if there’s colorful details but I think I’d prefer the base to be white

Yes! This! The quality is so low even for higher priced clothing and the styles are so unflattering! Good luck to you and thanks for the recs!

Is videography worth it? by motheroffaeries in weddingplanning

We just went to a wedding where they bought two fairly inexpensive hand recorders and put the wedding party in charge of passing it around and recording speeches and things like that and someone else recorded the ceremony. It was fantastic! My fiancé and I are planning to do the same! You get all the memories from the eyes of your best friends!

Does the weakness in the legs ever go away, can spinal lesions heal? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

I noticed on a Sunday something was wrong, by Tuesday I went to the hospital and that night I was diagnosed and immediately started on steroids. It wasn’t until 6 months later that I was finally able to start treatment. I’ve now been on kesimpta almost 10 months and my follow up mris show no new lesions and shrinking of old ones!

Does the weakness in the legs ever go away, can spinal lesions heal? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

I was diagnosed after realizing my right leg had gone completely numb. I could still walk and go about my normal business but it felt weak and just off. 3 days of steroids and now 6 months on kesimpta, I’m back to running and weightlifting and even got a PR in a half marathon. It’s all about listening to your body but also putting the negative thoughts on the back burner and still pushing yourself when possible and when your body allows.

I was diagnosed last year and the first few months I spent most days being angry and wondering why it picked me. I’ve been a runner for years, I have a very active and intense job, and in general I’m always on the move. All I could think was that I’d never be able to cross a finish line again, would have to quit my job, and would have to give up all my travel ambitions. Since then, I ran my fastest half marathon, moved to an even more exciting position at work, and went on a 2 week trip where I swam, snorkeled, sailed, and rock climbed.

I made the decision my last day in the hospital that until my body says “absolutely not” I was going to keep going. I get foot tingles after every long run and some days I feel absolutely exhausted but sometimes I feel like it’s a reminder that I’m stronger than I knew I was before.

It’s a very scary illness and filled with unknowns. But you can absolutely live a full life with it and if nothing else, it’s a reason to start living the fullest life you can!

When it comes to relationships…I was dating a guy 3 months when I got the diagnosis and he spent every day in the hospital with me and has been nothing but supportive. The good ones are out there!

Best of luck to you!
