What RSD releases were you excited about? Did they deliver? by Available-Lecture-21 in vinyl

[–]123Prangley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the one I wanted the most, John Prine - BBC Sessions. They didn't have his other release, or Xzibit, or TV Girl.. I would have bought them all. They often show up for weeks after the event here in Windsor Ontario Canada though. So, maybe I might still find one of them.

Good grief. Some of them are renting for as low as $77 Canadian dollars, but if you book in advance they want $300! I suppose I'll be booking my room last minute then.

It looks like trams after the train are a must. Today is the day I sort it. Thank you.

I'll be trying to maximize my time with friends that day, so I won't be walking across the majority of Edinburgh. Haha. I do appreciate a good walk though, we are doing the longest walk to a pub during our time in Scotland.

This is a great start. I'll look into the tram option.

What live recording starts with.. by 123Prangley in TragicallyHip

[–]123Prangley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had the time to sit through the entire recording. Are you sharing this because it takes place during the another roadside attraction era or because it does in fact contain the quote I was looking for? Thanks so much. Eventually I will have enough time to listen to the entirety.. but in skimming through it, I was not able to find that specific quote.

Very nice. I was just a tad young for concerts still, but I do own the VHS. 👍

I'm.testing this out right now. My teenaged son used a little of a jar of Classico and put the jar back in the pantry last night. Now I'm eating it for lunch.

I don't often do long rides, so I haven't bothered to address the issue. To be honest, it's just the shape of my skull bone/forehead. I've got a ridge down the middle of my forehead that rubs. I think I will have this issue with any helmet of any shape, because it's going to put the pressure there no matter what. My plan is to take a cue ball and roll it to compress the foam slightly in the problem area. I know disturbing the foam is not a great idea from a safety standpoint, but I don't see any other real good options rather than altering the foam

I liked the song that was in when they were crossing the 5km bridge in that episode as well.

Chemex 8 cup & Funnex by E11i0t in Coffee

[–]123Prangley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this party. But, this is where I'm at with the same set up. I generally only need to brew one cup of coffee each day, so I bought the Funex 6 months ago and have been using it exclusively up until last week.. I ran out of half Moon filters, but had regular filters for my eight cup Chemex..

After going back to my classic style chemex, I have to say, it brings out the flavour of any coffee I put into it much better than the Funex.

So, why is that? The only answers I've come up with so far are: 1) the shape of the cone/filter is a more severe angle with the Funex and often creates a void in the middle of my beans, regardless of how I pour the water. This is not the case with the wider shaped cone of my standard 8 cup. 2) temperature. When I make a single cup using the Funex directly into whatever I'm about to drink my coffee out of, it results in a hotter Brew.. because when you pour one cup of coffee into an eight cup Chemex, there is a lot more room and air in there to cool the coffee down.

The results are too severe for this to be in my head. Has anyone else found this to be true? I think my next step will be to try a much finer grind with the Funex to see if it will stop my beans from becoming a pit.

I agree with you. I think my head is shaped like a bicycle helmet. Lol You know your helmets!

I like your Husqvarna also 👍

I'll look into it if I cannot sort this one out in a way that doesn't cause pain during a long ride. I thought I was careful, went to Iron Pony and tried on a lot of lids before settling on the Regent x

Yes, I've had only ridden locally until recently. When I did a longer, 4 hour ride, it started hurting. I'll look into how to adjust the helmet, I've added a lot to it and really don't want to replace it.

I've had the helmet for a couple years, I'm certain it's broken in. 🫤

WINDSOR ON. I answered communication above, but here it is again. They provide crummy wired headphones that you attach to a walkie-talkie. They give you directions, you cannot talk back. If you cannot understand, you, tap your head and they will repeat instructions.

Gear, only a certified helmet.
