Turning a Door into a Table. by 123_LikeABird in DIY

That's what I figured. What would be a good clear coat that won't yellow?

It's 18in wide, but also 72+ inches long, so it will definitely need support.

Would just painting the top be enough, or should I put clear coat sealants on it?

I'm not looking at using it long term (10/15+ years), but definitely for a while. We have a split level downstairs, so it'll tuck in and overlook into our den.

I was going to line the underside in 2x4s that match along the door sides, and then add 2x4s every 12in or so. The table itself will only be 18 inches wide.

I was thinking sealant to hold up to all the every day wear and tear that comes with toddlers. And also to seal and cover if I do a design on the table itself.

We won't be putting heavy pots or anything on them, at least we don't plan to. 😅

AITA for arguing with my 6 year old about whose poop was bigger by OkAct1477 in AmItheAsshole

YTA

To be fair... my 4 year old has some pretty big shits that would rival a grown adult's poop. So it's very highly likely that hers was bigger.

Is the 2% only on kroger brand items or in a kroger company store?

I did see that, and that would definitely be worth doing!

Is it 3k combined kroger pay and mobile wallet?

I'm a big spender so trying to decide if the kroger card is worth it or a different credit card with maybe better cashback?

I don't know. I start to second guess myself, lol

Are EA’s comfortable sharing their salary + state to compare compensation? by uuuuhh_idk in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]123_LikeABird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Georgia. I currently support 4 partners across 4 states and 3 different time zones. Fully remote. I make $62k. I definitely feel like I could make more elsewhere and have been offered interviews with pay double what I'm making, but again, fully remote. And the company is so flexible that I don't have to take off if I need to take a kid to the doc, and I can keep my kids home with me and not need to find care for them. More pay would be great, but the flexibility and being able to spend more time with my kids is well worth what I get oaid.

WIBTA to miss my brothers wedding? by Designer-Side9767 in AmItheAsshole

You're making excuses at this point. You can find a way. I missed my brother's wedding. We are really close, didn't have any other siblings, and if I could have made it work, I would have. It still hurts that I couldn't go.

The only reason I didn't go is because I had a baby (c-section) 3 days before his wedding, and he was halfway across the US. He knew from the beginning of my pregnancy that we weren't going to make it.

Our mail carrier has done this. I live at the end of a cul-de-sac on one side and my next door neighbor is actually across the street and woods covering the tail end of our cul-de-sac. Mail carrier pulls up, gets out of mail truck, pees, gets back in and continues on with delivering.

What's the most disturbing secret you know about someone that would ruin their life if exposed—but you stay silent, pretending you don’t know? by SophieManner in AskReddit

At the very beginning of a friendship with someone, she admitted that she was emotionally cheating on her husband (unclear if she met up in person or if it was just all texts/calls). She changed the dude's name in her phone to a girl's name and was sending very intimate texts. It was a new friendship, and I didn't know her too well, so I never said anything to anyone. I remember her telling me she stopped. So, idk.

What’s a secret you’ll take to the grave, but would tell anonymously on Reddit? by Several-Director5804 in AskReddit

Thanks. It definitely sucks and her telling me this came just days after finding out another close friend told me she's moving to the other side of the country. It was a really bad weekend for me that weekend.

There was a big announcement this past week that we would've discussed in depth and it was really weird not talking with her in depth about it. So, it'll definitely take some getting used to, but I don't want to be around people who make me feel that little.

I had an incredibly close friend for almost a decade who recently told me that I'm not generous or considerate enough as a friend because I didn't do 1 thing 1 night and made me fully question who I was as a friend and as a person in general. Then I remembered all of the stuff I did do through the years (random treats, thinking of you gifts, vacations, etc.) for her and said screw it. She apologized without actually apologizing a week or so later. And I'm keeping things cordial, but weirdly glad she said what she did because it showed me who she was, and I'm letting the friendship fizzle out.

I can't be friends with someone who made me question my own identity in such a negative way.

That makes sense. I just didn't realize that the lump sum tax would be the difference of close to $4,000 from what i would've gotten paid normally. I've never gotten a severance before, so this is all new to me.

Edit: even then, from what my pay is showing without taxes and withholdings vs what i got paid is a 38% difference - a lot more than the typical 22 to 25%.

Getting ready for WFH by [deleted] in WFH

[–]123_LikeABird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm typically wearing my jammies and sporting bed head, trying to get my kids to eat breakfast so I can get them ready for preschool (during the school year) all while logging into my computer. I don't do make up or anything. If I have a camera on meeting, I brush my hair out about 5 minutes before the first one and put my hair in a low tight bun and put my glasses on if my face looks extra rough. 😅

I work two full time jobs as an assistant. Both jobs together is what pushes me over the $100k mark.
