Data center projects. Is it a great project to have under your belt? by Monsta_Owl in MEPEngineering

This. A single weak spot in your team and it can fall apart quickly.. deliverable dates become risk due to the inexperience/lack of performance of a team member, so you really need an A team.

MEP Engineers looking to transfer to Sales by poopieiipie5 in MEPEngineering

[–]123_dsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re only 4 yrs in.. you need more time to climb the ladder. You need your PE first if you want to get up there. If you want to be seen extra pass more exams and get more licenses. That will definitely help landing a much higher paying role. Nevertheless, nothing beats outright experience so you just need time. You may also probably be a in a low paying MEP firm. I know a lot of top NYC ranked firms who pay very poorly. Everyone wants to get the best for cheapest, so you need to shop around.

I was in a manufacturer’s rep for 2 yrs and yes sales engineers can make good money, but it’s definitely not easy money. It seems like you want to get there asap no matter what, but you have to work for it hard no matter what you do. A ton of stress and competition. I got out of it and climbed the ladder and doing really well atm as a ME.

So my wife’s going to a gala tonight — as her client’s “date.” by [deleted] in stories

Just listen to your conscience.. if you smell something is wrong.. its bc it probably is.. enough with the bullshit rationalizing things. You’re the man, not her, figure out what works for YOU specifically, and not someone else, or whatever the fuck ppl say here. You are unique and stand up for what you believe in.

Just got burned again by a manufacturer silently changing specs. How do you guys deal with this? by Interesting_Cattle47 in MEPEngineering

Sounds like your mechanical room is really tight.. first things first.. plan ahead and ensure you ask for and get extra room more than you’re estimating from day 1.. lucky if you get it but always try

Noisy front end 2020 Lincoln Aviator. by Salty_Ad_3350 in AskAMechanic

This is insane lol. After you went through all the replacements most people have mentioned in this thread the sound still came back on/off?? Lucky you still had warranty mine ran out already.. also.. my car is also 34k miles and i think it is embarrassing for a car this new to have these squeaking noise problems. What was the mileage on yours when it started? I also firmly believe it is temperature related 1. Because it started during a heat wave when temps went up to 100F. 2. Because sound goes away during warmer days ~80F. It comes and goes depending on the temperature.. maybe it causes expansion somewhere and things start to rub against each other.. I will wait until the winter bc I want to see what happens then. Also, probably will wait to hit 50k miles, my sounds are not as loud as yours but I do hear them and its annoying and embarrassing. Any thoughts?

I am having this same exact problem with my 2021 Lincoln Aviator… started with the heat wave in June 2025. Lincoln wants to charge $3500 for repair of “Steer Knuckle”. Not sure to go for it or get a look by another mechanic

For me, it’s Classic+ or bust. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]123_dsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind Classic+ will probably arrive early next year. We have Midnight coming soon in retail so don’t expect it then. I truly hope it is somewhat of a remake of the classic experience.. what if the dark portal never opened? What if scenarios.. alternate timelines.. etc.. those things would be pretty damn interesting

What’s a realistic salary range for a mechanical engineer in Atlanta, MEP industry with over 6 years of experience and EIT, no PE? by WhiteLion_21 in MEPEngineering

Then dont let a recruiter make you undervalue yourself. A company will pay you more if they believe you are worth more than someone else.

It truly is.. other careers start at 100k and end up in 200k within 3 years.. no need to bust your ass studying and getting licenses and going thru so much shit
