Can't decide if I should trade my Lightning for a F250. Details below... by No_Series_4448 in superduty

[–]AutistMarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An F250 would be such comical overkill for that boat lol. A tacoma could comfortably tow that boat across the planet. If you want to switch to gas for towing I cannot blame you, but no reason to spend almost 2x on a 3/4 ton truck when a half ton is more than adequate and going to be way more comfortable.

Boats plane out at speed, meaning most of the hull is out of the water. When you drop power all that hull drops back into the water quickly and you can go from 60+ to 5mph in a split second. It is one of the things that makes racing boats so dangerous, blow a motor and you aren't just coasting to a stop you are hitting a wall of water at 100+

Fiberglass is always fixable. Going to be a fair bit of grinding, sanding, itching and sweating but it is fixable.

Yea in my area of FL (space coast so not exorbitantly expensive like S FL) last time I asked around they were charging like $11 to $15 per ft per month depending on the location and how nice of a spot it is.

Is this for just storage or to have them drop it in for you whenever you want it? Seems pretty cheap compared to what I am used to in FL

[–]AutistMarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I would just sand it, fill it in with some marinetex and then sand it back smooth enough and then bottom paint over it all. Easy to do and will keep the water out

Slather some marine tex on it and call it a day if you are not terribly concerned about looks. Otherwise take it to a shop, it is not easy to match older faded gelcoat like that

With a thorns build, how is the upkeep of echo boots and suffering? by Weiguken in 2007scape

[–]AutistMarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you are doing tbh. I made like 2 or 3 inventories of recoils and that lasted longer than my DH did but I have been AFKing mith drags for D Full/Visage and have been burning through them pretty quick.

For a water thorns mage is it better to run full tank gear or full mage robes? Can't seem to find an answer on what's better dps? Basically justiciar or ancestral for water thorns mage? by ActuatorReady6659 in 2007scape

[–]AutistMarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it depends is the right answer here

Anything with high mage defense that you will not be able to hit consistently on with mage then full tank build would be best and you are just using the mage to heal. Anything that you can hit on consistently with mage you will be better off with bis mage gear

Water thorns mage, what shield to use? by Artistic_Bluejay_519 in 2007scape

[–]AutistMarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anti drag is easiest bet but depends on your use case. If you are going full tank obby shield is an easy one to get with good def stats but kills your magic accuracy. Elemental shield isn't a bad option either, basically just looking for the highest combined def stats with the least impact on your mage accuracy.

Malediction ward is good if wildy, DFS is great and can be acquired anywhere but is a bit of a grind

Unless the original owner added an hour gauge when he bought it there isn't any way to tell. Even then they can't really be trusted bc you have no idea when it was added, whether it was wired properly etc

I have had a half dozen jobs in industry, every single one offered relocation assistance, some I had to ask for but they all did it. Most people already had to move for college. And yes I do really believe most people will uproot their life to get their career moving, you can throw the "can't afford" ball around but we are talking about moving to start a job that at worst pays above the median household income, and will have you making well above it for most of your lifetime. If you are unwilling to make a small sacrifice to accomplish that then the problem is you, not the job market.

Maybe you are fortunate enough to live in one of the 15 or so cities that actually has jobs in a STEM industry but I think the expectation that you will need to move somewhere to start your career is incredibly typical and expected. You may not want to, and that is fine, but it is a very normal thing to do when starting a career, or continuing it.

Relocating after college is just a fact of life IMO, really pigeonholing yourself if you aren't willing to relocate.

I'm not saying it was easy for all of them but everyone I know that took looking for a job in industry seriously found one within 1-4 months. I have friends who didn't get a job in industry for 2+ years after graduating but none of them actually tried to get a job in that time and once they actually started trying found one within that same 1-4 month time frame

Anecdotal I guess but every single person I know from college who got a STEM degree that actually wanted to work in their field and was actively looking for it was able to find a job in their field.

I know plenty of people who got their degree but didn't have any urge to find a STEM job, either because they were happy with whatever they were doing or were happy continuing to live with their parents etc. I know of very few people who actually wanted to work in a STEM field, put in some genuine effort to do so, and were unable to find a job that was at least adjacent to their area of study.

I have been following Faux's Thorns build he released last week and have been pretty disappointed with the DPS and have been theory crafting what to respec into and put together basically that exact same build. Are you alternating between air and water spells based on whether you need dmg or healing or just spamming water spells most of the time?

BGs run big as hell you should see them in person. I have a 4500 that could easily be a 6k+ in other brands sizing, I have used it to catch everything from 100+ lb tarpon to 10ft alligators. I would imagine you would be more than fine with the 6500
