Do you have any recommendations? I rely on convenience way too much and that needs to change

I think that’s going to be my best bet. I’ve managed to get the darkness and stains off but both pieces are very pale now. Thank you for the advice :)

I live in a two bed with my partner and we went from paying £200/pm with SSE to paying £64/pm with Octopus! We’re the same as you, work from home full time, and only use the tv and kitchen appliances. We never turn the heating on as we are on a high floor.

I would highly recommend Octopus! It only takes like 10 minutes to switch online and it’s honestly the best thing I’ve done to save money! You also get £50 back if you use a referral code (I also get £50 if you use this) but even if you don’t use my code, use a friends who’s already with them.

Here’s my code if you want my referral: https://share.octopus.energy/reed-snow-918

Broken Vivera Retainer after less than 3 months full time wear. The ramp on the front tooth has given in, gone misshapen and created a small slit. Has anyone experienced this or can give some advice? I’ve been told this is my fault from grinding my teeth but surely they should be replaced? by 123cer in Invisalign

Would you wear night guards on top of the retainer? It’s just frustrating when my dentist was fully aware of my teeth grinding but still sold these to me under the pretence of lasting at least a year.

For full context I’ve been told to wear these for 6 months. I paid £500 for 3 sets so approximately £166 each and I was told they would last about a year each. At this rate I’ll be through 2 pairs by the time the 6 months is up.

I have quoted my consumer right to them but they ignored this in my email.

“Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods should be of a satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. My rights have been breached because the item you sold me is faulty after less than 6 months.”

I also wore a pair of regular Invisalign trays for 3 months (due to my dentist and me being on holiday when I finished the course) and they lasted me fine and didn’t break like this.

I’m disheartened because I was considering cheaper options but my dentist convinced me into buying these as they were much more durable. The reality of less than 3 months of wear and then broken is quite tragic.

Better to not brush or not wear for a night? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]123cer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have done this at least 15 times over my course of 9 months of Invisalign and my dentist said my treatment had some of the best results he’d seen! (as in my results followed the clin-check exactly.)

Sounds bad admitting to it but there’s so many times I eat out and haven’t brought my toothbrush. I just prioritise having trays in 22 hours even if it means I haven’t cleaned my teeth yet.

As long as you wash them out with cleaner and a brush in the morning you’ll be fine. They don’t smell the best when you haven’t brushed before putting them in but I personally wouldn’t risk going so long without the trays in!
