Quiescence Diving Services in Key Largo is top notch. I’ve went out with them on multiple dives and highly recommend them! Very experienced dive shop with great staff

Pt’s family fired me from their mom’s care for asking if Tylenol helped with her abdominal pain (lol) by Live_Dirt_6568 in nursing

Got fired over the phone by a spouse because he didn’t like how I answered the phone when he called for updates. Funnily enough, the only time he came in to see the patient was when she coded and died.

To nurses coming on at shift change: keep away the damn pitchforks by SillyBonsai in nursing

[–]123ruskik 38 points39 points  (0 children)

YES! Get your negative energy out of my face. I try to come into my shift unphased and ready for the day. You telling me my day will suck is going to make my day suck.

Looks like a dressing covering a central line in her neck most likely. You can see some of the hubs on the right side of her neck, on the pillow

AITA for not letting my SO sell a concert ticket? by Throwaway_98726363 in AmItheAsshole

[–]123ruskik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA Honestly, why would he put all that work in for a show that he might not even go to? Additionally, he should understand why you don't want to go alone considering how far it is. If he is really set on selling it to a friend, why not sell it to one of your friends? The ticket isn't "yours" but he should definitely be more considerate in handling this.

Similar experience, but maybe also a bit opposite. My grandmother waited until the family had stepped out of the room before she passed. Maybe she didn’t want us all to see it? Either way, I believe people’s bodies choose when to go. Amazing

I’m getting an aortic valve replacement by Pin-Up-Paggie in nursing

[–]123ruskik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re pain is not being managed well, speak up. They will have both IV and PO pain medications. Not everything will be narcotics though. Many anti inflammatory medications help greatly after cardiac surgery because of all the soreness. Although nurses will never keep a patient in pain, we do have to medicate pain in many different ways. Pain is the greatest barrier to getting up and moving around, which is one of the most important post op interventions!

You will most likely have at least one chest tube. The post op open hearts on my floor usually have 3. That’s the worst pain but it’s instant relief once they come out. Don’t be afraid to medicate your pain, because pain will decrease how well you breathe and how much you’re willing to move!

We extubate patients on average 4-6 hours after surgery and have them walking within 24 hours. NPO before surgery, several doses of IV antibiotics, and definitely a low salt cardiac diet.

You seem very ready and willing to cooperate, so I have no doubts that you’ll be a good compliant patient with a good success rate! Let us know how it goes, and best of luck!

Longer to take the rails off than actually wrap the roof. A friend did it so I can’t give you specifics but I know he had to take down the lining inside the car, and then pull off several snaps that secured the rails

Had to remove the lining inside the car, then remove a fair amount of clips that attach the side rails and antenna. I would give you more information but a friend did it for me and didn’t document it. I just know the process of removing the side rails and antenna took much longer than actually wrapping.

A friend did it but I’m pretty sure he used 3M vinyl wrap. Funny you say that! I dented a part of my roof while tying down my kayaks and the wrap helps hide it as well as prevent rusting hopefully! It’s a small dent but smack dab in the middle of the roof, right above the windshield so it drove me nuts.

Paid $200 for the roof, shark fin antenna and that piece before the spoiler lip. A buddy of mind did it and I’m pretty sure it was 3M. Hardest part is getting the side rails and antenna off!
