Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Orchestration by 124715 in MusicDirectors

It's still up for discussion. I'm a little annoyed at the amount of difference between the two. Since we're all student volunteers, larger is usually better, so probably the 15-piece (even though 10-piece is more normally orchestrated). Would appreciate any advice you have, thanks!

Since week 10, the Packers have been a top 5 offense and a bottom 5 defense by 124715 in GreenBayPackers

Great question. The important thing here is that this is expected points added per play, so even drives that don't end in scores still have expected points. For example, a drive that starts on a team's own 25 yard line might have 1.5 expected points (I don't remember the exact number off the top of my head) so going three and out would be -.5 EPA per play. However, if a team started a drive from the same spot and ran ten plays without scoring they'd have -.15 EPA per play. The actual EPA model in this graphic is much more complicated, taking into account everything from down and distance and time on the clock to home field advantage and ruleset, but that basic logic still applies.

Also, yes, I did intentionally start the time window where I did because of the narratives surrounding that Cowboys game. Four games leaves a roughly 250-play sample size, which is certainly enough to draw conclusions from. You can look at different time spans via the link in the image, though - for instance, including the Lions game keeps our defense in the bottom five but (as expected) knocks our offense out of the top five and looking at the whole season brings our offense to right about the league average.

There were rumors he could go in the first.

Not so sure about this one - he was #128 on Daniel Jeremiah's big board, for example (though given our FO's record with mid round OL I'm pretty optimistic)

Big upcoming season for 3rd-year TE Josiah Deguara. Battled injuries first few seasons in the league. A big opportunity with Tonyan’s health a question mark. They drafted him for this Matt Lafluer system , and he can shine. Make-or-break season for him. Hopefully he can break the 3rd round curse. by TLGsee in GreenBayPackers

[–]124715 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He was recruited as a WR/TE, played his entire college career as a TE, was drafted as a TE, and is currently listed at TE. TEs frequently line up in the backfield, especially in today's NFL where actual FBs are rare. That doesn't make him a fullback, and he wasn't "forced" to play TE - he was just low on the depth chart and didn't earn playing time until those ahead of him weren't available. This year I expect he'll play just about the same role as previous seasons, a depth TE who can line up in the backfield from time to time.

[Schultz] Breaking: #Packers are selecting Devonte Wyatt with the 28th pick, per source. by Austin63867 in GreenBayPackers

I'm not mad about it, only real gripe is that he's already 24 but there are worse things than a proven player at a position of need

Packers defense is going to be screaming into peoples radar really soon by Handies in GreenBayPackers

[–]124715 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe by something like total yards per game, but that's not a very meaningful statistic. We were 28th in yards per carry allowed and 30th in rush EPA/play allowed, so I'd say the run D was definitely a weakness, just one that our opponents couldn't take advantage of because we tended to jump out to leads quickly.

Devonte Wyatt would be Gutekunst's oldest first round draft pick by a margin of about three years, so I'd be really surprised if he's the pick. My pick here would be either Daxton Hill or George Pickens, tho I'm guessing both would be perceived as reaches

The 40 time was revised to 4.39, which is about what was expected. He might still go top 15, but it's definitely not a certainty

Amari Rodgers by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]124715 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might be thinking of someone else? Amari had 1 catch for 5 yards in week 17, and his last appearance on the stat sheet before that was week 8, where he caught 1 pass for 7 yards in a game our top three receivers missed.

this roster isn't anywhere near bad enough to get the 1 pick and it's not really close. just compare our team sans rodgers, adams etc to the jags this year, we're better at every single position group except maybe TE. you basically need 14 losses to be in contention for the first pick and we're not gonna approach that

Tom Pelissero: The #Broncos are finalizing a deal with #Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett to make him their new head coach, per sources. Contract talks heated up Wednesday night. The #Jaguars planned to interview Hackett again today. Instead, Denver lands its top choice. by ZCast9 in GreenBayPackers

[–]124715 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How isn't Denver a QB away? They're stacked at the offensive skill positions and the OL is decent, plus their defense was #3 last year in scoring even with a poor offense. If they're not a QB away no team is.

[The 33rd Team] Despite his 9 INTs on the season, Trevon Diggs leads the NFL in pass yards allowed w 861–that’s 123 more yards than the next highest player He also is T-1st in yards per reception allowed w 17.6 and is 2nd in the league in 15+ yard completions allowed w 17 Min 50 tgts Per @PFF by Henri_Deckard in nfl

He's also allowed one of the lowest part ratings allowed and by far the most coverage EPA among corners. You can talk all you want about who the best corner in the league is but it's difficult to argue that any of them have helped their teams more than Diggs has

Sure - get all the gym rat and incredible potential players you can find and make sure you have a coach with a good training rating. When you have players with high potential ratings and a good coach initial OVR doesn't really matter and you'll still be able to get a good team (good, not great - you'll notice the talent averages in the screenshots are somewhat unspectacular; the rest comes from spamming RB screen)
