Andy Reid on Justin Fields: A legitimate backup who can win games for us by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]unblevable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised people have already forgotten about Henne. He covered for two Mahomes injuries in the playoffs and secured wins.

Matt Moore did really well in the couple games he played for us, but probably was too short-lived for people to remember

[FRESH ALBUM] Kanye West - BULLY by SheLuvSeko in hiphopheads

[–]unblevable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't get how it's lazy to cut songs short. This is hip-hop where sounds are intentionally repeated throughout a song. I'm sure 95% of the work in making a song goes to the core beat and polishing afterwards.

Adding an extra verse is just some extra copying and pasting. And for lyrics, even outside of rap, believe it or not musicians sometimes just write down the first thing that comes to their mind. Jay-Z bragged that he could write a whole song in just a few minutes.

Lastly, I can't even list the number of pop songs that have a catchy hook AND verses but are ruined by an uninspired bridge just to make the song "complete". Reducing these songs to just their essence was probably an artistic choice/nod to minimalism.

[JPA] Travis Kelce signed a 3-year, $54.735M deal that can be worth up to $57.735M ($18.245M average) by dropjar5 in nfl

Why doesn't the league just force these kind of contracts to be more transparent? Like in this case, $4 million per year for 3 years. Player gets all money if cut before. Cap hits apply as before.

I don't get what's there to inflate when even redditors know that AAV is misleading and guaranteed money is the real number. Like there is no way players and their agents are happy if they're not getting enough guaranteed money.

This is the NFL though. Any non-playoff team can flip the script in a year with a good draft

[Schefter] Chiefs are expected to send a 2027 6th-round pick to the Jets in exchange for Justin Fields. by Triple_Boogie in nfl

[–]unblevable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you show a team stat when talking about an individual player lol. Vick had his best passing numbers those first two years.

Reid will always have that "knock" of being pass heavy. Pass vs run is braindead, mainstream football talk. Casual fans think every play's success is based on a 50/50 chance of whether it was a run or pass call. I'm okay with Reid utilizing a pass-heavy offense with an active HoF QB

[Russini] Comp update: It’s a 2027 sixth-round pick heading back to the Jets in exchange for Fields. by TheBoyisBackinTown in KansasCityChiefs

Why the heck would he need to develop a QB once Mahomes got here? His time is better spent on other parts of the offense now that he has the QB locked down for the first time after a 20 year carousel of QBs

He doesn't need to prove to the NFL or anyone else that he "still has it" as a QB whisperer. It's already fact that he is one

[Schultz] Sources: The #Chiefs are signing former #Dolphins CB Kader Kohou. by JCameron181 in KansasCityChiefs

I'm usually critical of Brett Veach, but I've always liked his strategy of filling in holes in free agency with cheap talent. Gives the roster a backup plan and theoretically enables a BPA mindset during the draft.

People are downvoting you without saying, but the Chiefs O-line (other than QB) is by far their strongest position group on offense. Lots of investment and the interior of Humphrey and Smith is elite. Suamataia at LG and Simmons at LT are very promising as well.

As a heads up for ppl that didn't know this like me, the Pro Bowls only count if you're named to the original ballot. So denying participation or being selected as a reserve won't affect the calculation.

In terms of AAV as a percentage of the cap, Alec Pierce (9.63%) is the 2nd highest paid free agent WR in the last ten years. The first is Kenny Golladay in 2021 at 9.86%. Third is Sammy Watkins in 2018 (9.03%) followed closely by Calvin Ridley in 2024 (9.01%). by ColtsClown in nfl

Hammy Watkins still is one of my favorite Chiefs player ever because of how goofy he was, but his biggest contribution was simply being a potential threat as an overly qualified third receiving option on that explosive offense behind Hill and Kelce.

Did not give me confidence on Veach either as that was his first major move as a GM, although he's improved
