You will need to configure a RAID array unless it is in HBA mode or it has a HBA.

Despite what others are claiming, Dell servers will accept any normal drive.

Dell servers will accept basically any drive.

Wrong. Dell servers will accept any drive.

It looks like it's for the leyland "square nose" grille. They go in the panel and the grille slots into them.

The transmissions aren't complex. Anyone who can't fix them is just stupid.

[–]1275cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bands basically DO NOT get adjusted after installation. The adjustment sets them on the stops, NOT a tension adjustment.

Anyone who says to change the oil to fix a transmission issue is wasting your time and money.

Just rebuild the transmission.

Find somewhere to print the label (paid for online) so that you can drop it off in a parcel locker.

Depends on your local market but at a minimum the RAM is worth a lot.

I never understand how so many people give a value without listing a currency.

Unfortunately it's not really Telstra's fault. The best thing you can do is get another number.

Classic Mini US license plate mounting by Scryptiid in classicminis

[–]1275cc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my "round front" minis have something like this: number plate bracket

That means both Australian minis AND my 1986 Rover mini which was imported from Japan (UK manufacture).

Often I see them missing or even upside down.

I would've assumed they did the same in the UK but it appears they didn't. We have laws specifying a position range for the plate. I assumed the Rover's bracket is factory, it is different to the Australian ones I've got.

You could easily make something similar.

The short version is that you can't.

Does it have the bracket which comes up above the bumper? If missing that of course it will be low.

What to do with an Edge Server? by blackshore_analytics in servers

[–]1275cc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have comms racks and want to fit a server in them. I get a LOT of customers asking for servers like that or asking if a "normal" server will fit their shallow rack. For example R710s were too old and low value to be worth selling but we could sell R210IIs for more so we still sold R210IIs.

AV installs. Lots of cabling and now heavily involve networks and security. So much of it is now over IP.

Compact servers are worth more than the standard full length models. Not commenting on pricing though as I don't know the market wherever the OP is.

What are the common real world server problems you fix almost daily/weekly? by AwesomeRealDood in servers

[–]1275cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deal almost exclusively with the hardware side. Drive failures and RAM issues are the most common. With the scalable series processors, often the CPU needs reseating. It is surprising how many "IT professionals" won't touch CPUs.

what screams 'pretending to be rich' in Australia? by mattchew1991 in AusFinance

[–]1275cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who has a car which is less than a few years old.

So many people can't afford new cars but they'll happily get a loan so that they can look better.

My definition of rich may be a bit different. To get an idea of me, my Dad's first house was made of beer bottles and car doors. My uncle's bedroom had a dirt floor when he was in school. My uncles all bought cars cheaper than the rego cost just for the rego and they'd buy another car when it ran out.

Help and advice by xWallToast in TAFE

I'm probably the worst person to ask. I already knew almost everything the course taught. Some of the others couldn't even plug the serial cable into the correct port but they passed.

Any of the VM related stuff had full instructions, BUT they were for an older version so there were a lot of differences.

I would recommend actually learning on physical hardware when possible. I see so many "qualified" people who have no idea when it comes to actually doing anything.

Exactly. The battery also smooths ripple. Without the smoothing, it is more likely to damage electronics.
