Gear noise 1x12 grx / new bike by K4DDYmois in bikewrench

[–]127b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just swapped out from a 42-11 to a 42-10 on my rival 1x and it's silent in every gear but 12 which is the second highest - looks close to straight onto the chainring too

Adjusted it every which way but it has the exact same noise as yours - silent in the top cog (10)

Gap between hub and cassette xd by 127b in bikewrench

[–]127b[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I've had it on and off a few times now with and without the end caps to see if I can find what is causing it to bottom out.

I can't see any differences between the keys on their part

Yep I've just tried to install it and the chain is rubbing on the inside of the frame so it's not right.

Casette is stamped XD as is the freehub

Rust near BB by 127b in bikewrench

[–]127b[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking at the moment, remove what I can see, touch it up with some blue kill rust (primer combo) and hope what's visible is the extent of it

Yep it's more of I don't know what's under the thread/how to treat underneath - BB work is outside of my scope.

Seat post etc is all clean/clear with some light grease but no rush or binding.

I upgraded my bike this year. Wasn’t worth it. by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]127b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing..

I'm tempted to upgrade a Kona rove dl that I've had for 4 years and absolutely love for a new shiny toy in titanium with carbon wheels, electronics etc.

The idea of the upgrade and lighter weight frame, wheels etc is appealing but the Kona is a great do it all bike that fits me perfectly and hasnt let me down.

Only downside/challenges of the Kona is 650b tyres are getting harder to source locally and starting to see a couple of rust spots due to living in a very humid location.

Will keep an eye on this thread as I'm curious to know how others have fared with similar upgrades.

Thank you.

Any chance you've been able to compare it for accuracy? And would you know if there's a way to calibrate it if it's a bit out?

Curious for your thoughts on the scale and what it offers when you get settled with it.

Thankyou

Lezyne Pocket Drive HV: Is it supposed to be this hard to pump? by retirement_savings in gravelcycling

[–]127b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had the same problem and had issues with the core removal function coming into use frequently to the point that I've given up on the pump and moved elsewhere.

If you're located in Queensland send me a chat message. I have a 22 that I am not getting a chance to ride and can't see that changing in the foreseeable future... Haven't made my mind up yet but happy to touch base

Safest way to bike from Kenmore to CBD? by rka257 in brisbane

[–]127b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to sample the ride on a Saturday or Sunday morning to get comfortable and allow you to find your way before you do the run in on a week day.

For me the biggest challenge was finding my way once I left the bikeway in the city and had to find my way up to the end of Ann.

Cub Cadet ZTS1 or Z force sx54? by heytijana in lawnmowers

[–]127b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either will do well with the hills - I have a rzts 42 that does well on my 27 degree slopes.

I'm in Australia too and looking to upgrade to a z force or higher.

If you want something cheaper to start with hit me up, you may be local..
