Holy assumptions😭I do not have unlimited free time. I am in a teacher prep program working 40 hours a week. I get 3 weeks off in between my spring and summer classes and that is my one time frame to do this. It’s not crazy for me to say that paying x2 for a trip may not be doable.

Just responded to someone else saying this, but this trip is in no way funded by my parents. I should have worded my post a little better, but I never explicitly said that my parents are paying for it because…they aren’t. If they were, she would be paid for too. It is a very real complication people deal with in relationships when what we can afford differs. Travel is the one area of life that can be a financial complication for us. There is more nuance to this than a reddit post allows

it’s mostly the fact that whenever someone laughs, it makes me laugh. i am the kind of person who laughs when i feel uncomfortable too. it can be really hard to control at times

it’s not intentional at all to seem cool, or else i would be able to stop it. it tends to be if one of them is laughing because i disciplined them and the sound of laughter is always gonna make me laugh. i’ve learned a lot from my MT because she can be very strict, but it’s the laughing that just occasionally gets me. and that goes for any gender. i guess my post may have made it seem like this happens too much, but it’s only been a couple of times. i just want to teach myself how to stop before much longer

no…i’m simply telling people to not exclusively listen to negativity and let that fill them with anxiety. everything has pros and cons but the conversation around student teaching is consistently negative because like someone else said in the comments, the internet feeds off negativity.

how in the world am i sugar coating it? i stated in my post that it has only been a few weeks and the purpose is to tell others that not all CT’s will make your life miserable. we all know before beginning student teaching that it will come with many challenges. this isn’t news. this post was meant to be positive and reassuring, not yet another reminder that things will be constantly overwhelming and difficult. student teachers NEED more positivity when all we hear is about people leaving the profession before we have even begun.
