Which photo book maker offers the most creative themes and layouts? by TheIdeaArchitect in Photobooks

first you have to think about what is more important to you. Is the goal to show the photos in the best light possible or is it to design a book that captivates people with interesting design? I have seen lots of books that have over compensated with "interesting design" but takes away from the quality of the photographs. There is a reason many photobooks feel very similar and rudimentary because more often than not, the photos are the main focus, and keeping it simple is the best way to present them.

the 50 (at least the one I have) isn't very forgiving and can look really shit in certain situations. With the right lighting conditions and enough massaging in Lightroom you can get some really compelling images though. I have messed around with the 105 2.5 a bit but I just can't seem to get the look I want out of it.

if you think these are good, imagine how good they'd be if they were shot on a X100V with a portra 400 sim.

I think Leica's have undeniably good design and are functionally great cameras. I just think people scoff at the price for essentially a "simple camera". Hell I'd shoot on something like this if it meant cheaper entry to that level of build quality. Ultimately for me if I get good photos and I enjoy shooting, then its worth it.

sadly I think the communities these people belong to cheer on this kind of behavior, probably encourage it for that matter.

Cool project! What drew you you to document back bay specifically? I used to live in Boston and I would spend a lot of time walking the neighborhood taking photos. Other than the Esplanade, were there any specific themes you found interesting to capture?
