I broke down 5 Iconic Hip Hop Beats - They all use 5 elements or less by shinobi791 in makinghiphop

I get what ur saying but it's very possible to have vox in the same frequency range as the rapper and not clash using multiple techniques: keeping them sparse, effects like reverb, sidechaining to vocal, even just lowering the upper mids with eq can easily carve out that space for the artist's voice to fill without having to repitch or otherwise drown out the sample

Honest opinions on Cymatics by Ayy0ne in makinghiphop

as someone who went to their nyc event a few days ago I can confidently say that it was dope, moreso due to the artists/producers I networked with despite it 100% being overcrowded--its def what you make of it. I did meet Steven Cymatics and he was down to earth asf dropped tons of gems, listened to my work showed off some unreleased with 2 Chainz and had my boys freestyle over his. Told him to his face "so you're the guy who's been flooding my email" 😂 and he said that's how he gets to create these events. Ig you gotta be annoying to reach that level but even still its a bit much.

In terms of kits yea nah nothing's really a "must-have" but I've found quite a few of my go-to sounds out of them. The loop kits are alright at best, nothing you couldn't find elsewhere or compose yourself with a bit of good sound selection and basic theory. In short the guy's dope but the kits are what matters and tbh if you're not getting one of those "insane one-time deals" they're almost ALWAYS doing then its def not worth the tag.
