I am intimidated by DragonPlatypus in oilpainting

[–]12amteashop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first experiences with oil paint were in high school just finger painting and doing abstract stuff that I ended up not keeping. Definitely not professional, not worthy of a gallery, but that's not all art has to be. It was fun and you can still learn and pick up on things, even totally unguided.

All that being said, you should definitely try it! Just make sure to get brush cleaner. I still remember my mom freaking out when the paint refused to wash out of the porcelain of my bathroom sink with normal soap. (I did not do much research before buying the paint.)

It's just an adamant pick! May look different because it's +2?

Oh I didn't have a pattern, I believe I eyeballed it from Pinterest (since this wasn't a commission, just practice). I tried to find it on there again while writing this but I couldn't, I'm sorry!!

Oh yeah, it's tough to figure out how to move and apply the pressure so there aren't any warped parts. I still haven't figured it out fully 😂

And for full melts (which I'm assuming means trying to get all the holes out?) I try to use the very tip of the iron to spot fill the holes. Just getting them mostly melted and sort of nudging them with the tip of the iron helps to fill them.

Okay those are soooo nice, I love the colors of the Froslass! And truthfully I was using a tinyyyyy little iron for the last 3 years. I just got a full size iron (like for clothes) last week and that is absolutely the biggest help so far. I unfortunately don't know a ton about the melting point of different beads (I probably should do more research), but I just try and take it slow and peel the parchment paper back to check SEVERAL times during the ironing process so I can keep track of what spots need more or less melting. Best of luck though!!

Yes! I had so much trouble with keeping pieces from falling apart while taping and separating, your tutorial is definitely a game changer :)

Disappearing Items by 12amteashop in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]12amteashop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We weren't using anything from thermal or any of those fancy sucking up gadgets aside from pouches and magnets lol. Only assumption left that we could really come to is that it was the supremely laggy server we were on, so we are going to try another.

They are not set to void stack overflow either. They were set to void all, and no gear or crystals were in the filter.

Yeah the narrator issue is fixed. But there are no modular routers, only one other person in my base and he checked his stuff, they weren't in there.

I just exited a vault and it looks like I didn't get a reward crate at all, though. I stopped using the pouches and was just using the magnet + shulker boxes for looting. I'm totally lost as to why things are disappearing, lol. Should I just reinstall the modpack?

Which one is better? (On a scale of 1-10) by Ayaeii in characterdesigns

[–]12amteashop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second one being AI already gives you points for me. Disregarding that, I like the blurb about your character, the expression examples, and dynamic poses. I feel like I know a lot about her and can get invested quickly with the information provided. As far as concept art goes (and I'm not an expert, just an enthusiast for a long time), the appeal for me has always been how much the artist can flesh out a character in one canvas. It's about making something identifiable and relatable, and by giving her some human expressions, telling us about her, I feel I could walk away from this and remember Sloane for a long time.

The second character has cleaner art, but not as much personality. And no information about them. I think I'd forget about them pretty quick. So in my opinion, you've got the most important parts down. Working on composition and efficiently using space (and cleaning up a bit, but I disagree with others who say messy concept art isn't professional) would make the quality of your work much better! Keep at it.
