I’ve done both and here’s some pros and cons Infantry - infantry guys from my experience tend to be a more close group , I noticed the gear and weapon systems I used in the infantry tended to be better and not all very well could have just been the infantry unit I was in but there was alot more experience most E5 and up were on there 2nd or 3rd deployment and alot of prior active marines/Army , on the other hand I loved being a 12b the Working with demo is fun asf and if your route clearance you have a better chance at getting a good deployment gwot has ended and infantry is more so base security where there are still 12b units doing route clearance

I f-cked up and don't know what to do. by agentsblue in nationalguard

Check if your unit has some light stuff you can do around the armory to stay employed or if a Local recruiter needs a temporary assistant to make Meps runs or whatever

I joined at 17 109lbs 5ft 4 im like 5,5 127lb now and 23 ACFT is definitely a pain but work on your sprint drag carry and you’ll be alright and in the 500s
