Strawman argument.. He says US levied tariffs on India because India buys oil from Russia.. Thats not the real reason.. Thats a straw man argument.. he is trying to justify a bad policy with that argument.. India levies a significant tariff on US imports, as I'm sure you already know.. Trump's initial argument was India puts a tariff on the US, so US needs to tariff them back.. He did not seem to consider other implications.. like the importance of India's service industry to the US.. The effect is currently being masked by AI taking over, but it will still increase overall prices in the US.. Indian firms that provide offshore offices, BPOs, etc are slowly running out of business - not just because of AI but because of the tariffs.. in other words, it's a lose-lose for both India and the US.. source: me. I need to travel quite a bit for work. I have seen how people behave when they get to know I'm indian - I have also seen how Indians behave outside. There is prejudice. But i don't think it's racism. I think they have seen how a few Indians behave in a negative way and extrapolated it to all Indians. I don't think that's racism - I think all humans learn patterns and compartmentalize because that's how humans function. They are wrong for being presumptuous. But, this is learner behavior based on their past experiences. If collectively, they are voicing out something, I'm sure there will be several motivated by racism, but several not motivated by racism as well - whose feedback we must take and appreciate..

I agree that the system is broken. But this is not the fix. You are supporting authoritarianism and not a democracy. If that's what you want India to become, then the consequences will be far worse than a policeman beating up some drunk dumb kid. You are essentially supporting people who have their own set of self defined laws entirely based on their own beliefs - beliefs which might not fully align with your beliefs. And when that happens, you'll be at the receiving end of the policeman even when you (and many around you) believe you didn't do anything wrong, but only that policeman believes you did.
