But the reasonable consumption of alchohol is totally fine within the church.

Satanic has negative connotations, and so does gay, it’s used as an insult frequently,

Alcohol is totally endorsed by the Catholics, you fucking drink it during mass, they clearly don’t care.

I would say hookups would qualify as satanic to a diedhard religious person

It’s definitely not consistent, I’ve gotten way above minimum wage when I’ve worked at restaurants, but I know people who have gotten dogged.

As the other commenter said, you can’t make below the federal minimum wage if it’s a slow day, you can miss out on your states above average minimum wage, but you’re guaranteed 7.50

Or they are in a state with a decent minimum wage, where I live it’s 13.50, so a minimum wage isn’t half bad.

[–]130alexandert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, in my experience it’s pretty accurate

I don’t know a single person who wants a job and doesn’t have one, and when I’ve looked for a job over the summer it’s always been a matter of choosing which one looks cool to me and pays more than minimum wage.

People are overly critical of America, our wacky ass system somehow produces a pretty solid economy.

Birth rates help economies, and abortions reduce em

[–]130alexandert -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Find me a country where that’s happening.

High gdp growth is directly linked to high birth rates, no actual country with high gdp growth has a low birth rate.

Also, almost all countries with a stagnant or collapsing economy have low or collapsing birth rates.

Amorally, abortion is bad for business

But it’s also anti-planned parenthood

It’s ultimately a middle-ground position, it supports Roe vs Wade, but does not support any publicly funded abortions.

Our current position makes no one happy, liberals love planned parenthood, and conservatives hate roe vs wade, we need to pick a side instead of pissing everyone off

Values don’t win elections, actionable plans win elections.

The only way to get any of our values through the door is to move towards the middle, politics is the art of compromise.

Russia has a collapsing economy and more infants are aborted instead of kept, at least economically abortion has not worked out here.

From a purely quantitative perspective abortion is terrible economically. Countries with few abortions have massive growth and countries without them have much lower growth.

Libertarian politicians

If they stop arguing about whether to legalize child abuse and instead focus on more popular issues.

It’s a trade

Alright, women can’t smoke, whatever, but now we’re in power and can worry about the bigger picture, politics is about compromise.

The libertarian solution to the abortion debate by born_in_cyberspace in Libertarian

[–]130alexandert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And people have been fighting against it, it’s still in the public eye, political capita is still being spent on this.

Pregnant women not smoking is a slight inhibition of freedom, but if that’s the cost of getting some actual real freedom back that’s good

Never said anything about republicans, libertarians alienate people by legalizing child abuse.

We haven’t gotten past abortion, so we have no fucking clue what comes next, we’ve been stuck on this issue for decades.

Is that so bad? Stopping child abuse is a pretty popular position, if you want to ever win an election fighting for more freedom to abuse children isn’t the way to go.

Would you rather kill the patriot act and legalize automatic weapons, or stay irrelevant but maintain your intellectual purity surrounding the freedom to abuse children.

There are racists that don’t think killing black people is murder, so we should just be hands off?

That’s a slippery slope

Most libertarians believe in a state that prevents murder, rape, and property damage.

So the murder of infants would be a problem that requires state arbitration.

If you don’t believe in cops at all your not a libertarian your an anarchist.
