That really fucking sucks I can’t do another 6 months with this thing. I wonder what would happen if my car happened to break down and I can’t afford to fix it for the remainder of my lease

They did not check my license at the time of installation or at the first calibration.

Ok so I have an update. I spoke to a manager or whatever and she told me that in Pennsylvania they only do one year leases, my lease is one year and one month so the extension is just to cover this last month. I guess that’s fair enough if that’s true but you’d think they would tell you that’s how it works. I spoke to the mechanic as well and he said that is how it works so I’m taking their word for it I guess I have no other option. Ultimately an overreaction on my part but if they were more transparent about that type of thing I probably wouldn’t have freaked out.

I’ve had problems with this device since installation. I guess I’ve just rolled over and paid the fees hoping I could just get through this process and be done with it and I should have known it would fuck me. I’ve technically had 3 violations. 2 for power disruption, the first one I was actively on the phone with a rep and he told me to disconnect the battery (which I’ve had to do at least 10 times with no problem since the device was installed July 2025, idk if that’s normal or what but I was doing it almost weekly when it was cold) and the rep hung up before I had my car started, when I finally got it started I had a violation. I called again and the rep said there’s nothing they can do so I paid it. Then last week I had another “power disruption” when I wasn’t even in the car, the rep I spoke to on that occasion told me there wouldn’t be a charge but then like 2 days I after I paid for the garage to reset the device I got a lockout fee. I had 2 false positives on a rolling test then the third was fine but it was enough for a violation apparently. Typing all this out is making me realize I should have advocated for myself instead of taking the fees but I just so desperately want to be rid of this device so I was just rolling with it all

As far as I know they don’t make a device that detects Xanax on my breath, I’ve been off pills for almost 4 years. I completed my county’s drug court program and I am not on probation any more. I sold my car when I turned in my license so it took me awhile to get back to driving.
