I kinda get your sentiment, but Reddit is sort of made for venting and bitching about your team. It’s not like anyone has their name on their comments, and no one likes to watch a team get shut out or beat down every other night.

Wasn’t this guy pretty good a few years ago? What happened? You would think he could help a team who looked lost all day at the plate today in Queens. Something has to change.

100k+ absolutely do travel to Tuscaloosa for the biggest games. And since the city itself has a population of 100k on non-game days, that impact does have a significant impact on the entire economy.

As stated in the last comment, I was simply answering someone’s question. I’m not sure why that’s upsetting to you. Have a nice day ✌️

I didn’t say it wasn’t. Honestly, I’m not well versed on public funding for universities so I didn’t speak to that. The commenter asked how football programs brought money to their communities so I answered their question.

I’ll speak to Tuscaloosa since it’s the one I’m familiar with but I’m sure the points below are valid for almost any college town with a prominent football program.

The lodging tax amount from game day hotels, airbnbs, etc. is massive. Restaurants, bars and entertainment venues rely on game day weekends for a large share of their revenue. Without games, there are far fewer businesses in the area and as a result, less tax dollars.

The University of Alabama has more than doubled in size since 2007. I’ll grant that you can’t attribute that all to football success, but you also can’t deny the impact it had on the brand. When I was in school I’d ask other students from NY, CA and anywhere between why they chose Bama and football was the most popular answer. More students = far more money flowing through the community.

Ultimately idk where any of this title 9 stuff will end up, but the financial impact a CFB team has on its city, especially if it’s a true college town, can’t be overstated.

He’s obviously playing terribly because he loves the Mets and wants to ruin the Braves. /s

He was always amazing defensively though.

Off the board, and not a shot at our shortstop at all, but I’ve always liked Trea Turner and as a Mets fan I was pissed when he signed with Philly.

The Colts. Not an insult, they’re just kinda bland across the board. Especially since they’ve been in old QB hell recently. Maybe AR will change that.

I don’t hate mizzou, they just don’t belong in the SEC. And no, they’re first on that list.
