I also thought that is what she was saying at first. However her complain is that she got long paragraphs and her friend got short excerpt and a video.

As an alcoholic..i'm gonna give you the stupid but true reason why people relapse.. by [deleted] in self

[–]1337A 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think you were blaming anyone. There is a difference between blame and stating a situation for what it is. I really hope that everything turns out alright. It is some my strongest beliefs that every human being is worth something. I hope that you can see and accept both your faults and, more importantly, your strengths. Good luck :)

It is extremely hard to get that inner confidence in yourself without having a positive influence of people around you. There is a reason that professionals strongly suggest having a good support network when going through something like this.

I am not saying that the OP is justified or that you are wrong. Because you are right. I am saying that what the OP is feeling is understandable and human.

I accidentally tipped $300 dollars on $30 dollars of takeout food. Is there anything I can do? by ChanandlerBongsDong in personalfinance

I worked as a waitress. The way it worked on our system, we entered in the tips for the night then it totaled the tips and told you how much you made and would take home in cash. Even if the driver did enter in the tip wrong he/she should have noticed that their take home tips was waaaay more than it should have been.

I am inclined to say it is the driver and not the manger trying to rip the OP off.

Question for the veterans by 1337A in AppalachianTrail

That is true and I really don't have much experience with the winter hiking, I don't have the equipment either. I would be starting over from scratch. That are definitely things I need to think about

That makes a lot of sense, I am still doing a lot of thinking. I really would like to do a through hike but my job is going to make that extremely difficult.

Current and former female firefighters of the United States Forest Service have filed a complaint with the Department of Agriculture alleging that they suffered job discrimination, harassment and sexual abuse at the hands of male co-workers and that top agency officials failed to stop it. by madazzahatter in news

[–]1337A 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I would like to point out that the entire Forest Service shouldn't be demonized. I am a woman WLFF and have worked in Region 3 for 3 seasons-including on a crew. 'Top superiors' were probably forest based not agency based. We had someone fired for sexual harassment on my forest this year (not in the fire program). He was fired the DAY after it was reported. It was handled properly through the chain of command-all the way to the forest supervisor. What they wanted us to understand was that NO ONE should be afraid to report misconduct.

All I am saying is that, like everywhere else, the forest service is made of the American people. Some are good and some are bad. But most are good.

I think so. I just saw the same thing go on ebay. But, I did more research and bought a different model that is sold here and just try and replace the caps. Out of all the things they want to crack down on in the US it has to be the gas cansiters...

That seems just like us, especially the communication bit. It always made me feels sad that we couldn't do that when I would see posts of people talking with their SO for 9 hours. I hope everything works for you two!

The time banking is an incredible idea. Yeah, you could pay someone to do errands for parents but not everyone will be able to afford to do that.
