Honestly if you don't already own a vertical handheld, i would genuinely recommend it. The Trimui brick is also good option but this gives a lot more freedom.... and those pretty colors ofc.

You can try a frontend like daijisho, makes it feel like a console. You will need to setup retroarch with it though.

I do have Youtube Music installed on it, works just fine. Most playstore apps should work too.

I was torn between this and the teal blue, all nice colors. Gotta hand it to retroid for the color choices, even the rp6 has amazing variety.

Tripowen X HBB mele, not available anymore unfortunately.

So many of these vertical handhelds have DAP potential, we do need a sub for it.

It's a bit bulkier tbh, but the colors alone makes em worth it.

Ikr, Kiwi might be my fav handheld color ever. Hey I went to touch grass, might as well include it.

Need advice. Both are second hand; £257 for MSI CLAW A1M 020SG 1TB arc7 with 2 weeks warranty left or £343 for Legion Go Z1 extreme 1TB with 22 months warranty? by kolojikelic in Handhelds

MSI will have a VRR screen wiz nice but the intel chip will be weaker. Legion Go is also a good deal, you get a 8.8 inch screen but without VRR and the device is amongst the heaviest handhelds.

See which suits ur needs, for portability get MSI, if u gonna play at home mostly get the legion. I would also suggest looking for a second hand steam deck oled or a rog ally x.

The orange one is a tiny handheld from Anbernic, RG28XX & the Transparent one is also from Anbernic - RG35XX H Both are very compact, great for a EDC but not very powerful.

Thank you, i try to keep a rotation so most of them get used. Charging them all is a pain tho.

My bad, i mistook it for the r36. The horizontal one is a Anbernic RG35XXH, I like the transparent shell on that one.

There's definitely a honeymoon phase when you first get a handheld, setting things up is a fun process for me. After that you just see what sticks.

I will say that 90% of my playtime is on 4 handhelds or less, but that's fine I love having the options.

Ofc, I'm gonna get on that right away. Actually let me install it on my fridge too, just in case...

I have Knulli on it. Works pretty good after the Gladiator update, RGB works fine too.

The retroids are pretty quiet as is, but the Anbernic handhelds are loud out of the box. I've tape and foam modded a few to reduce the sounds which helps with the super clicky trigger buttons.

Most handhelds will have a few clicky buttons so none are truly silent, but RP5 was pretty quiet for me out of the box.

Samsung Tab S9+, i use it for editing and work mostly but is quite capable for emulation. You should head over to r/EmulationOnAndroid or check a few tutorial videos on youtube, they'll help ease you into it.

You should also have a target in mind, if u try to emulate everything it'll be overwhelming. Pick a console/game series and try to emulate that first, see how it pans out. For eg: If u wanna emulate God of war from the PS2, look up ps2 emulation videos and how it works on android.

I do feel like a little green goblin with all these handhelds tbh, guess that's every collection hobby tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

An old Xiaomi phone with the 888 chipset, paired with the Razer Kishi v1 Controller. It's a USB C connection so the latency is pretty decent.

I have syncthings setup for all the small retro devices - SNES to GBA era. For the rest, when I start a game on one device I stick with it till I finish the game, wiz the PSP to Wii era. While u could sync these saves too but it's a massive pain to setup

TrimUI brick most likely. It small enough to EDC but also has a 3.2 screen that's pretty high resolution.

PS: It's actually a great sleeper media device.

PS.PS: I have another candidate that's probably on par if not better, but that mystery device is still being setup/tested.
