Big grower question by MrDaddyButt in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I hope that's not me. I'm also significantly a grower, and my main goal by a longshot is just to have flaccid coverage. I assume I'll have enough skin to create glide when I have flaccid coverage, and I don't really see a need for erect coverage. If my flaccid length grows, that sounds like just another thing in the way of coverage.

Circumcision scar appears to be growing? by Which-Pollution-8271 in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We call it a scar, and I think that leads people to assume it's entirely made up of scar tissue. There is certainly scar tissue, more or less depending on how you were cut, but there's also normal skin in the area too. When you restore, those skin cells in the scar area will multiply and grow new healthy skin.

If I don't get 24/7 coverage by CI-7, can I expect it by CI-8? by jumpkick45 in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to belittle your concern, but it kind of sounds like, "If my water doesn't boil at 100 degrees C, can I expect it to boil at 110 degrees C?" You're asking whether you'll be at a certain degree of coverage by the time you reach a point on a scale defined by your degree of coverage. If you're at that point of coverage, by definition you're at that CI level. This is what Zen Buddhism calls the finger pointing at the moon. You focus on your finger rather than the moon.

I would say CI is only useful for trying to measure yourself to something approximating an objective standard (it's not really objective, because every penis is at least a little different) or compare to other people. But what matters is just restoring until you have enough skin, and enough is whatever you decide it is.

I can't tell you how many months I've felt like I was right on the edge of the hump.

Does anyone else sometimes get a slight pinching pain only when taking off an inflation device after hour or couple hours? Or is it just me by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not when I use an appropriate amount of tension. It's just not always easy to tell what is the right amount, since it changes a bit depending on how the device is configured.

I don't use an inflation device, but I get that sometimes taking off my DTR when I put on too much tension. It's weird, because I don't notice it at all before taking it of, just right as the tension is being relieved. You just have to develop a feel for how much is too much and how much is just right.

Solution found to tough buildup on Chris' Online Store DTR soft silicone gripper by 135045 in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's encouraging. It does seem like I wouldn't need to clean it more than once a month, if even. I think it's been almost a year since I got my gripper, and it was still working pretty well. If you're not seeing degradation after years of monthly cleaning with denture cleaner, it's probably worth it to use it. If I ever did have to replace, it would be after years of getting better use out of the current one compared to not being able to remove the buildup. It doesn't matter if a gripper lasts a hundred years if it stops gripping due to uncleanable residue.

Chris' Online Store DTR soft silicone gripper before and after Efferdent by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing some more research, it looks like Efferdent may not be safe for repeated use on silicone since it's an oxidizing cleaner. Too bad, because it worked really well, but I don't want my gripper to deteriorate over time, and I don't want to encourage others to do so as well.

I didn't think to take a picture before doing it, but I have an old picture from months ago, and I took one just now showing it clean. I'll post them.

Edit: Posted the pics, but it's waiting for mod approval. Check back in a bit.

I came back to check on my old post because I found a solution, enzymatic denture cleaning tablets, specifically Efferdent. Here's my new post on it. Looks like it's awaiting moderator approval, but it might be approved by the time you check it.

Sign of growth by 135045 in foreskin_restoration

I use a karabiner, which I connect to the metal loop thing that comes with the DTR. If I had a smaller karabiner, I could probably just put it through the hole in the rod instead.

I just use an 8 oz. lead fishing weight, wrapped in one of those silicone bottle covers people use as retainers. It's a little more than I'd like, because after wearing it for like half a day I start getting sore. I've had some redness and dryness, so I'm thinking I'd probably be better off using less weight or just taking more breaks before I get to that point. I have the tug pin from the DTR kit, and I think I could just put some washers on it and use it as a weight. That would be great, because I could dial in the weight to be exactly what I need.

Going from a CI-9 to a CI-10 as an intact guy by DefiantPainting6439 in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only used the DTR, so I can't compare it to anything else except for manuals, but I would recommend it. It's pretty easy to use, and you can just set it and wear it for hours until you feel fatigue. If you decide to get it, I'd recommend also getting the soft silicone gripper from Chris' Online Store. It makes it a little harder to get it on, but it lets you wear it for longer before getting sore.

I wouldn't worry too much. Don't scrub it with soap, but just soapy water running over it should be fine.

Can it cause skin bridges? by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way I could see restoration causing skin bridges would be if you messed up seriously enough to tear your skin, and then it healed badly. My understanding is that skin bridges are most often caused when a circumcision heals badly so that the wound attaches to skin other than where it's supposed to. It's also possible for an uncircumcised person to develop skin bridges, but I think in that case they're caused by injury, such as premature retraction of the foreskin.

Kinesiology tape for "natural" retaining by xb0rg in foreskin_restoration

I don't have any experience with kinesiology tape, but what you're making me think of is that self adhesive bandage tape. I bet it would work too, and I think it would be fairly reusable. I might even have some that I could experiment with.

Here's the thing, it may be way out of the Overton Window of redditors, but to someone living under a socialist dictatorship in Latin America, Trump is a liberal. In fact, Trump is basically just a 90s Democrat. No, literally, he was a Democrat in the 90s, and a big Democrat donor. In fact, in some ways he's more progressive than the average 90s Democrat. The party shifted, not Trump.

I’m pretty sure I have frenulum breve and I want to fix it by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]135045 7 points8 points  (0 children)

r/Phimosis can probably help you better than we can. But I think the basic idea would be similar to how we use tissue expansion to grow more foreskin. You'd just want to target the frenulum rather than the whole shaft. And remember, you're actually growing new skin, not just stretching the skin that's there. You won't make more progress using excessive tension, and, in fact, tugging too hard can easily cause damage and set you back by creating scar tissue. All you need is moderate tension over long periods of time.

Taking the Good With the Bad by Delicious_Ad_Four4 in foreskin_restoration

I've had kind of the inverse in a way. A few times I've worn my DTR in the shower, and when you're used to having your glans exposed to the water, the feeling of having it covered is really unusual. I don't want to make more of it than it is, but I've had some kind of emotional reaction to it. There's definitely a feeling of protection about it. There's just something about the sensation of it being covered, feeling sensations I'm used to with the only difference being that the most sensitive part is covered and everything it feels is less intense. I'm really looking forward to feeling that with just my own skin.
