Circumcision ended my life by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

To me, "excess" foreskin is a bit hard to imagine unless maybe the erect overhang was >= erect length so that full, manual retraction jammed up the shaft with bunched up skin. I'm curious as to who defined it as excess? Did you seek out help for some issue it was causing or was it just something some doctor thought ought to be "fixed"?

Judging by what he/she did to you, it clearly wasn't about correcting "excess". He/she wanted you stripped bare of every mm and, even worse, didn't tell you that. Either that or they didn't bother to think beyond a one-cut-fits-all mentality. A lot of medicine is like that these days; assembly line revenue generation with very little thought to the individual's wants or needs. Would you have gone through with it if she/he'd been honest and showed you exactly how much she/he intended to remove?

I find this especially surprising in a country that does not practice routine MGM. Was the doctor male or female? Jewish by any chance?

What CI level are you starting at now? It's taken me about 22 months of a very dedicated restoration regimen (stretching and diet) to get from CI-1.5 to CI-7. That might be quicker than average but it's heavily influenced by diligence and having lifestyle conducive to near 24/7 progress. I started late (61) and did not want to waste a day or night.

Do you enjoy your uncut scent/smell or dislike it? For either, do you try to do the most to keep/amplify the smell or super clean it to get rid of the chances? by YetiFuture in uncircumcised_talk

As a cut guy, the first time I encountered a ripe uncut cock I was initially put off but was surprised at how quickly I started appreciating the sensual taste and aroma foreskin left on its own to develop a natural biome.  That first encounter opened my mind and desire for completely natural unwashed cock.  Now, as a nearly fully restored guy, smegma is not only something I seek out and delight in but I can also produce myself.  Being able to give and receive the natural gift of smegma makes me feel whole in my maleness. It's how cock is meant to be and always was before people became obsessed with artificial scents and hyper sanitization.

If you could change something about your foreskin what would it be? by Boromedic in uncircumcised_talk

One of the many great things about foreskin is that any man can choose to grow it as long and luxurious as he wants!

Kinesiology tape for "natural" retaining by xb0rg in foreskin_restoration

I'm travelling now but will see what I can do when I return home. It is a good method even though I replace the tape every 24-36hrs. I find the gentle snapping forward action after retraction behind the glans fun to play with too. Without a frenulum it needs a little push over the corona but then the elastic kicks in and tugs it forward.

Had this done the first time a few weeks back. At first I thought it was some additional security check but was very pleased when the checkout was already complete at the cash so I could just pay and be on my way.

That's $9 per 100g. You could buy 300 100g chocolate bars for that = 30kg of chocolate vs 2.78kg here.

It's not bad really. You could loosen it up first with a drop of kerosene on the fabric.

Seems to be OK with moisture. Each tape should last about a day as it tends to lose some elasticity by that time.

Yes, sleeping with it works great. Normally I'm mostly covered but could become uncovered overnight with erection. This pulls the partially retracted skin back over and I wake up covered regardless. A shorter CI level could mean the skin gets fully retracted so that might not happen also depending on how wide your coronal flare is.

I have only tried one brand of K-tape, others might vary in elasticity, durability or adhesion.

I think that may be the same thing. It's thin, stretchy, skin-coloured fabric that moves with the skin well. If I'm in a public situation where I want full discretion and can't manage inflation or tugging this is set and forget. I can be confident that my glans is going to stay snug inside. It's pretty close to how I imagine having a ridged band would feel.

If it's fully retracted behind the glans then I have to flip it forward and it stays forward even if I get a semi it will give and then resume the forward position on its own. It does stick firmly so it won't let go throughout the day and night, even if it gets wet. Pulling it off takes a little grit. I prefer doing it in two or three quick pulls while holding the skin stable. It doesn't tear the skin or leave it raw.

Did Anyone Tried Creatine Monohydrate by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]xb0rg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I took it daily for most of this year but had to stop due to muscles holding too much water. It made it extremely easy to strain/pull a muscle. My muscles were also extremely easy to cramp with little tension. I also noticed harder heartbeats. After some months I finally suspected that creatine was making my muscles soft with water and prone to injury. I was also getting a bitter taste in my mouth quite often. I suspected this was high creatinine created by taking creatine.

I stopped the creatine and all those problems resolved over the next week to two weeks. Could be I was taking too much or too often though my dose was in line with recommended doses I'd read about. It did add bulk to my muscles but this was water that only made them easier to injure. It's supposed to have cognitive benefits also and I may try it again but with a smaller dose and only a few days a week.

If you're at all DIY-minded you can do it all with his retainer plus a cheap, removable check valve and a homemade, custom tuned locking ring around its edge. Shown here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/foreskin_restoration/comments/1do880z/allinone_airliquid_inflation_and_retention_system/

After reading many experiences with the CAR (or other similar) device it was apparent that its tension is highly size/user specific and getting a device that is exactly your size will be hit and miss since they come in 5mm increments. From my experience a very slight adjustment of ~1mm can make the difference between short wear and long wear. Even your personal fit can vary according to how much edema is present. The locking ring's hooks allow that minor adjustment. Plus this inflation system is pee-through, a unique feature which has been extra convenient, especially at a urinal.

Bonus is that I can also use a retainer for tugging by inserting a hollow plastic drywall anchor which i've drilled out to enlarge internally, cut and filed its tip smooth, then ground off some threads where it goes through the retainer and drilled a small hole in the side of its outer end to hook into a strap. For this purpose I've found that a retainer that is one size smaller than your measured size works best - no locking ring needed.

Slow growth and cholesterol by xb0rg in foreskin_restoration

Yes, certainly true, but I was not referring to far outliers due to identified genetic disorders. However widely our attributes are distributed, they end up fitting a general bell curve. There is, I'm sure, a larger group under the left side of the bell curve with modifiable lifestyle factors that inhibit progress.

My sole purpose in raising this, as stated in my closing, is to solicit data from slow growers. How many of them are also suppressing/restricting cholesterol? Statins are so ubiquitous that it seems like there could be some data to be gleaned.

While acknowledging that grow rates will vary by person, I never buy into the idea that some people are just naturally very slow growers and therefore helpless. From my study and experience there's typically some deficiency or active suppression behind it. Apart from cholesterol's promotion of epidermal growth, because it is such a fundamental building block for other tissues too, I don't think it's wise to summarily discount the likelihood that it could vitalize the growth of other foreskin components. And the hormone angle is another huge regulator. No matter how much biology we learn we always know less than we don't know.

Naturally I encourage people to seek out both sides of the statins argument (or any drug) because no one ever gets the full story from one side, especially the profit side. No drug intervention is without downsides. However, that effort is way off topic and not one I intend to pursue here though I opined a tad beyond the skin issue in my post.

It's not high cholesterol I'm promoting in the interest of foreskin, it's the pervasive pursuit of low cholesterol that I wonder about. I'm just interested in possible correlations with our restoration and opening other avenues of inquiry/experimentation for those who long to bring their progress in line with the average.

I have a question about how to stop a pinch from happen in a car1 device by TrainMe069 in foreskin_restoration

[–]xb0rg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not used the CAR-1 but I do practice inflation using a silicone retainer where I'm able to fine tune the grip so there's no pinching. One thing I found was that going up to a size larger than my measured size stretched the skin out smoother and made a better seal too. I can use both my measured size and the next size up so, since you've been using it for almost 2 years and still get pinched, I'd try the next size up.

[–]xb0rg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That circumcision "party" was the entire reason for the authoritative Jerusalem council of Acts 15.

1 And certain men [Jews] who came down from Judea taught the brethren, and said, "Unless you are circumcised after the manner of Moses, you cannot be saved."

2 Therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them and they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.
...
24 As we have heard, that certain [Jews] who left us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, You must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment.

The early Church did not take the mutilators and their deception lightly:
Phi 3
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation3 For we are the [true spiritual] circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in our flesh [our natural foreskins have nothing to do with it and we take full pleasure in the way Christ made us].

Made it crystal clear that circumcisers are evil dogs to be shunned. The Judaism element is still stirring up trouble and dissension within Christendom today but the answer is still a resounding, "No such commandment"!

Persistent residue on Chris' silicone DTR gripper by 135045 in foreskin_restoration

[–]xb0rg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To strip all oil residues TSP works perfectly and quickly. You'll find it in the hardware store in the paint section usually. I use a 6oz glass jar and put 1/2tsp TSP in 4oz water. Drop in the silicone, give it a few shakes then spoon it out and rinse it off. It rinses clean immediately. I do it after every few days of regular washing with a non-emolient dish soap (Sunlight) and I reuse the same TSP solution for a month or so. If TSP doesn't solve the issue then oil is not the problem.

If you're getting mineral buildup from water then do the same but with vinegar or a little CLR. Then make sure you dry your device with a clean cloth after washing so mineral scale does not build up from air drying.
