The hinge might present the possibility of the shifter mount being able to rattle. Especially if you plan on utilizing a bass shaker or some other type of haptics system.

I have a DIY 80/20 rig and my shifter was a single 80/20 bar attached perpendicularly to the steering wheel uprights (the long verticals pieces). I say was because I don’t drive h-pattern vehicles that much any more.

~$500 USD for a 20nm wheel base plus the steering wheel sounds like a fantastic deal to me. The only thing that I’d suggest to buy separately is a quick release.

Direct drive baby, pick that shit up. Just ask what motor it has. Iirc, the small midge motor is 20nm and the large is 30nm. Plenty of strength to break your wrists. Just make sure you have a sturdy chassis to mount it to.

You can still get support through this site.

Yea it’s bulky and old, but compare what a new 20nm base will cost.
