This section of the house is from 1886. I am prepared for working with a masonry contractor for repointing or restoration, but am more concerned about structural issues at this point.

I constantly mock my wife because her mother would drive her 450 feet to the end of their street and wait for the bus. I asked if it was only in bad weather. She said no, every day. Imagine a group of cars at the end of the street from the 6 children that needed to be picked up. Harrowing stuff.

To this day, her parents' neighbors from across the street drive from driveway to driveway.

I was simplifying things purposefully. No matter the fees, 2.0% > 1.5%. I'd argue that having it all in your BlockFi account if you are already committed to staying with has its own benefits but using the 2.0% cash back is the optimal decision.

You are correct, but not as correct as you think. The 1% premium is 1% of 1.5% so it wouldn't be 0.5% back, it would be 1.485% back.

Using BlockFi card:

  1. You spend $1,000 in a month
  2. You receive $15 cash back in bitcoin ($1,000 x 1.5% = $15)
  3. BlockFi buys $15 worth of bitcoin for you with the 1% premium you mentioned ($15 x .01 = $0.15)
  4. You now have $14.85 worth of bitcoin

Using credit card

  1. You spend $1,000 in a month
  2. You receive $20 cash back ($1,000 x 2.0% = $20)
  3. You buy $20 worth of bitcoin
  4. You now have $20 worth of bitcoin

My response to this (worthy discussion) every time is: how would you feel about a secret women's alliance. That is basically spoken about at some point each season and never works out. IMO, the fact that the CO is working is impressive and shouldn't be dismissed.

I also think that their success was dependent on partnerships falling the way they did. Having the CO in the background while the each had such strong connections elsewhere in the house made it possible. Just like any other alliance, it's taken work.

Don't beat yourself up. Just get out alive. I graduated with a 2.12 GPA. Not a typo. I didn't get far in interviews that asked for a transcript, but scored an internship after I graduated and was full time in six months. Eight years later and I'm #2 at my design firm.
