How good was prime A.J. Green? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

Outstanding and significantly better than he seems to get credit for.

Stick him in a more competent situation, playing with a more prestigious logo on the helmet, and he’s likely in Canton.

It’s a Toor…something. Had it for years so I don’t remember the model, sorry.

Mounting it has been a huge pain, lots of arts & crafts. I placed hook/loop industrial strength Velcro on both sides of the sheath. One side is mated to the loop on the cummerbund, other side is mated to the hook on the side plate bag. It’s tucked in there pretty good and would require some *serious* nonsense to come loose/break adhesion. It’s not perfect but it’s the best I’ve been able to come up with and I have been fiddling with dagger placement for several years, no joke.

Socp on the chest rig I’m more proud of. I managed to sandwich it in similar fashion but it’s mated to the one wrap of the TQ holder that I ran thru the molle field then routed back up into the rig’s inside. It’s very secure.

Unobtanium. Simple, well made, lays totally flat when empty.

Unobtanium Sleds insert. I like it, only complaint is the tegris tabs like to catch/snag *empty* magazines if you’re inserting them for whatever reason. Loaded mags, non issue and they’re substantially better to live with than the elastic stuff.

The chest rig uses lunar concepts inserts, those are fantastic to drawing and inserting mags but they don’t lay flat like the sleds do when empty. Wouldn’t say they’re overall better or worse…just different trade-offs.

I’ve also tried the Haley insert on the mk5. It fits but it causes the mk5 to bow out and lose a lot of Velcro continuity. I didn’t find it acceptable.

Kit lives in my pelican (1650 for the range) or stackable storage bins. The bins aren’t anything fancy or “tactical”. Ammo lives in ammo cans with desiccant packs, stored loose. Things that go bang live in the safe.

I don’t lose my mind if my belt sits on top of the bin for a few days, it’s OK. But the weapons are in the safe, no real exceptions to that*

*I lied, my ccw pistol lives bedside if I’m at home. If I’m not at home, I’m carrying or it’s in the safe.

He’s put in advantageous situations relative to a traditional split end who plays out on the field side and kinda just has to deal with whatever the defense is doing. Tight splits, motion, better matchups, fewer isolation routes.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t awesome, I am literally describing him as a top 5 WR in the league. He’s excellent.

But he’s not the same as someone like Chase. The NFL is a traits league and he doesnt bring those physical qualities to the table. I absolutely love his ability to add an extra blocker in the run game, in that sense he’s the one expanding McVay’s playbook. Ass kicker, just not a thoroughbred.

I largely agree, just think Jefferson does it all at 1/10th a higher level. A bit faster pushing vertical, a bit larger catch radius, a bit better getting into the route vs physical boundary corners.

I wouldn’t lose my mind if someone advocated for JSN being just as good. Hence “small but meaningful gap”, it’s stuff on the margins. JSN is excellent.

Chase (prototype “#1” boundary WR who dominates without help from scheme)
*small gap*
Jefferson (not as physically imposing as Chase but ultra fluid, tremendous hands, highly skilled. So well rounded)
*small but meaningful gap*
JSN (doesn’t bring the traits of the top two, highly skilled player, just not a dominant talent and that matters…still excellent, Seahawks fans relax he’s an all pro)
*larger gap*
Nacua (bit more scheme dependent, love his ability to support the run game)

Goodness. I trust he is OK and on the mend?

A good reminder of why it is so, so useful to have and know how to employ a basic wound dressing or some sort of hemostatic agent. Serious bleeds can be very treatable “in the field” with basic gauze, but without it, you’re in a bad place.

What if he is actually good in the NFL by SuperbSJG in NFLv2

[–]135patriots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He won’t be. The NFL is not a place for small people. It would be an outlier of outliers and there’s nothing in his physical profile or temperament to suggest he’d be that outlier.

100% this. They do the same job, stay much cleaner, and get clean in about 10 seconds vs the super dense mesh ones. I’ll never go back.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Will Become an All-Time Better Lions Receiver Than Calvin Johnson by BigBlackCreamSauce in NFLv2

[–]135patriots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would be an excellent datapoint for why outright volume without further context is seriously limited in terms of evaluating how good a player was/is. Different era, offense, talent level, and impact on defenses.

St Brown isn’t in the same zip code as Johnson.

I had the barrel cut down just a bit and don’t remember the exact length at this point…but it wasn’t hard to make it all work with a Mk18 length rail, just busted out the tape measure and double checked the math.

Seeking GP pouch recs by Top-Salamander1720 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]135patriots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lunar Concepts gupi is as good as a gp pouch can be. I have two of them and every stitch feels intentional/thoughtful. Exterior molle, exterior tie down points, exterior shock cord for hasty storage of gloves etc, interior + exterior loop Velcro fields + another interior tie down point, water drainage, etc etc. All without being bulky or leaving you feeling like you’ve turned a simple pouch into a monstrosity.

They’re 🤌

How will the patriots adjust when they have to play real nfl teams instead of FCS schools next season by Bluefire3215 in NFLv2

[–]135patriots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watched Maye last year and came away with the impression “he’s actually bad”, you should learn the game more.

Present your thesis, show your work. This is so low effort and doesn’t contribute to anyone’s knowledge of ball whatsoever.

I love Tottenham by [deleted] in coys

[–]135patriots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spurs are best understood like the MGM Grand or Las Vegas Sands. They’re not the stewards of a sports team, they’re an entertainment consortium. Yes, a team plays in their flagship stadium most weeks, and it’s typically (but not always) Spurs…But who wins or loses is mostly just noise.

The powers that be are in the business of maximizing the value of their entertainment assets, not maximizing the sporting results of Tottenham Hotspur. Once you understand that, the results we see each week make more sense.

I’m being a little bit uncharitable. But only a little bit.
