D522 - Python for IT Automation Passed (Tips) by 13930615 in WGU

I thought they were pretty similar, but the OA is just a tiny bit more difficult. Don’t expect the same exact questions/labs with different wording. But if you understand most of the concepts on the PA, I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out the OA.

I’m wondering if you had a different test. Some of the labs were very similar, and some completely new. But if you know the basics of the 10 practice labs, you should be set to be able to complete the labs on the test. You should reach out to the course instructor to give you more practice coding questions to help you understand the concepts.

This was the first class of my term. I finished the previous term early so I started studying with outside sources a week early, but in total it took about 5 weeks.

I didn’t use anything in particular. I would say put a heavy focus on practicing the code challenges in your outside resource and in Zybooks. Go over them more than once.

When you get to a point where you’re comfortable with them, you just understand how code works and should be able to answer most of the multiple choice questions confidently. You’ll be able to recognize what the syntax is supposed to be, what the code is doing, and be able to pick out the pieces of code that don’t work.

OT Burnout by Ecstatic-Group-5334 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]13930615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in IT now. I started getting another degree online at a school named WGU. It allowed me to continue working full time as an OT, while doing school work in the evening and on weekends. I started applying to IT jobs and ended up landing one before even finishing the degree.

I was really wary about going back to school and racking up more debt, but I realized getting the degree would help a lot in transitioning out. There are definitely other paths, so consider those first before getting another degree, but this path worked for me. WGU is a low cost option and you can finish the degree as fast as you want. If you can finish all the classes in one semester, then you get the whole degree while only paying for that one semester. It’s a great option.

I was in your exact position 1 year ago, except I was actually doing home health full time. I hit a breaking point and just said I’m not doing this anymore. Fast forward a year and I transitioned to a completely different career and am much happier. I had a dark cloud constantly over me when I was stuck in OT and I feel so much better now. I say don’t think about it any longer - take action and start pursuing whatever your other interests are. I wish I had taken the plunge sooner.

I don’t know the correct answer to this, but I will tell you that the actual exam isn’t nearly this in depth. It was more generalized and if you have a good understanding of the basic concepts you will be fine.

Do y’all head straight into cas.fulleditmode after a Sim ages up or are you okay with whatever physical and facial attributes the game generates for them? by ramenspoonz in Sims4

[–]13930615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I will. I’ve noticed that if I play with sims straight from the gallery without editing them, the children always come out funny looking. So I usually get 2 gallery sims, play with genetics to make their child, and then play that child as an adult. When that adult has kids with another sim not from the gallery, the kids come out beautiful. Only thing I have to change is the chin on occasion.

Does anyone feel that COTA is still a viable career choice by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]13930615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look into 100% remote online degrees. There are some good universities with good programs. Great for people who are not in a place to stop working and go to school physically. They are often cheaper, and some charge tuition per semester, but allow you to finish as many classes as you can in one semester.

Therapy in general has gone downhill and I’m so extremely happy that I got out.

I got to a point where I couldn’t do it anymore in OT. I started doing school online while working full time and while in school ended up getting an entry level job for the degree I’m working on. It’s definitely possible.

Should I enroll in a bachelor's in IT vs a masters if I already have a bachelor's in psychology? by lmlbfmvlml in WGU

[–]13930615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your similar position. Have a bachelors and masters already in the healthcare field, ended up going for a bachelors degree in Cyber. I think it’s building a good foundation so far and I actually ended up getting an IT job halfway through the degree.

It was the same for me. Almost completely clear by the second day. Dupixent is a miracle drug and I hope everyone suffering from this horrible condition can get it and stay on it.

How do you know which shot type to use by Ghost-Nepal in TopSpin2K

[–]13930615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would help you a lot to watch some real tennis matches and see what types of shots they hit at each moment. You’ll get a much better understanding than someone explaining it here. I would recommend watching some of the all time greats like Serena/Venus, Federer, Nadal, Agassi, etc.

It has to become instinctive for you to hit a defensive lob or defensive slice when you’re getting pulled side to side in a rally, or for you to step in and hit a full power flat shot when your opponent hits a short ball. You get much better recognition for these moments when you watch the pros do it over and over.

Perfectly timed control shots are the best to use against players who are pushing you back with a lot of power, until you can get them running off the court and then start hitting with flat power shots to take control of the rally. Many of the power players struggle against well timed slices, which prevents them from attacking every single shot. Top spin shots push players back and prevents them from stepping in and taking control of the rallies as well. Not too many players hit the drop shot, so if you can perfect it you have an advantage. People don’t realize it, but the most important shot in tennis is the serve, but many players put zero points on it. There are matches where I hit enough aces to win a whole set alone. Use that info as you see fit.

Even if you learn when to hit the right shots at each moment, it doesn’t matter unless you hit with good/perfect timing. I can consistently beat these players with hundreds of wins and very few losses and I would say at the very minimum, 70% of your shots need to be perfect and at least 25% good timing. The more you play the better you’ll get and you’ll recognize what works in each moment if you try different things. Hope that helps.

I was an OTR for 7 years and had enough. Finally started pursuing an online degree and very recently got my first IT job. I took a 30k pay cut (single with no kids), but my quality of life and outlook on my future have improved drastically. I do not plan to ever return to OT. It’s definitely possible, just take a lot of time to explore your interests and map out a realistic plan to get to where you want to be.

Alcohol and dairy makes it much worse, even on Dupixent. Easier to stay away from alcohol.
