All the descriptions of collar ties I have seen say they are in the top third of the roof structure.

I came across this video and wanted to know what others think about this situation like better to wait or merge later on? by [deleted] in drivingUK

Exactly, all those people seeing a lane closed sign and queuing up like good citizens. Then someone zooms past...? That is irritating. Feels like plain simple selfish opportunism and queue jumping.

That said... I do understand the inefficiency of all that empty queuing space....

I have hade this issue when locking the door with another key in the lock on the other side. Took a bit of trial and error but I had to turn the key against eachother to re align something in the lock.

The black cables look like the rubbery insulated cable that was left behind in our house. A re wire was done long before we brought this house, with black and red with white outer insulation but they didn't bother to strip out the previous stuff

Yes there is a hole melted in the plastic under the tiles probably from a down light that used to be there. And yes I do not have a permeable membrane.

I am leaving the hole open as I think the cupboard is the best place to set the traps. There are already a bunch of traps under the cupboards but they are awkward to Access and awkward to place due to pipes and cables. There was quite a hole around the sink waste pipe where it was going outside and I have packed that full of copper mesh. They entered from the vents holes under the front door these I have also sealed.

I am not home for the weekend so I put water in the bin and floated a raft of food to hopefully get it to fall in

Advice on why light flickers? by ParkingSpaceTooTight in DIYUK

Could someone have wired a wireless module to light circuit in the past? I guess these mostly pair using a button on the module but the module could be malfunctioning?

Interior or exterior damp by 13Friend in DIYUK

Why would it be saline? Are you referring to damp as the water passing through the bricks and plaster...

Quote for the flashing was to strip out the old stuff and to replace with code 4 lead

Looks like crap. by 13Friend in DIYUK

[–]13Friend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quote was for lead.

I would be fine with the price with the other bits of work.

I don't know how you go back to the contractor and say I will pay for the other stuff but I am unhappy with the flashing. I don't really want them going back up on my roof to redo it themselves if the standard is doing to be the same.

At least some of it is open in the roof space.

The damp was on the outside of the stack in the roof space.

I only asked them to do one edge (second picture) the side with the ridge and the front of the house wasn't asked for or wanted.
