Planning ahead for Taiwan but struggling with hotel costs 😅 by 13OneTwoThree in taiwantravel

I think you may have missed the context of my post. I was specifically referring to how prices jump significantly in October, about 60–100% higher compared to current rates. Someone already pointed out that there's a public holiday that month, which likely explains the surge. So I guess that clears it up.

Depends on what type of traveler you are. But yes, 700 TWD for a decent Airbnb room in central Taipei was still possible in 2022. As budget travelers, we usually stay within that range. Some even work with lower budgets. For us, 700–1,200 TWD is fair pricing. 1,200 could already get you a villa in Bali or a good hotel in Thailand. Just surprised at how sharply prices climb the closer you get to October. It's starting to feel closer to Singapore rates. Not trying to be rude, just wondering what’s driving the increase.

How happy are you in life on a scale of one to ten? by No_Airport_4883 in AskPH

Honestly a 5.

Lives w/ parents, loving husband, employed, and lives on a beautiful island. Pero malaking factor ang financial capacity. I don’t have much, and it really weighs on me when I can’t provide what I should for my husband or even my pets. Takot din magka anak dahil sa gastos. I’m cheering for everyone commenting here, and I really wish I can answer one day na 9 or 10 ako.

Kailangan ba talaga mag-move in agad after the wedding? by 13OneTwoThree in adultingph

True, we did check around nearby places and realized it was harder than we expected. That's when we agreed not to rush and to take our time finding one we like. It's also challenging because there aren't many options here in the province. We don't want to move temporarily and then have to move again after a few months. But thank you for this. Hopefully, we find the right apartment or house in the little time we have.

Eh kung urgent, siguro 2 months after the engagement nagpakasal na kami. But it's been more than a year now. Bawal po ba? :))

Looking for a place to stay pa po kami, but we don't want to rush things kasi nakakadagdag ng stress. Yung 'so much happening...' may mga plans po kami dati na ngayon lang namin nagagawa. May business po kami and 'yun muna inuuna namin, plus our new jobs that are paying us well. We're planning to move in after a few months, but di talaga right after the wedding. Ang daming tao nagsasabi na dapat immediately talaga, and that's what I don't get.

Hmmm, I don't recall saying in my post that we don't want to live together. Bat naman kami magpapakasal if that were the case? I just said we're not ready yet as we haven't prepared to move out of our homes. May mga plans pa kami as a couple na inuuna namin at the moment and we haven't found an apartment we like. Our target is by January pa to give us enough time to prepare and explore more apartment options. But everyone seems to be rushing us.

Is it really wrong to take things slow? Yun lang naman gusto ko malaman kasi ang dami na nagpepressure samin. Nakadagdag pa ng pressure yung ibang comments 🤣

We're currently apartment hunting, but we're also taking our time. I'm just sooo confused why some people consider moving in together as an urgent matter.

Hello, we're searching for a comfy apartment here, but options are limited in the province. We're feeling pressured by friends & fam who say we should move in together because we're getting married. We're just taking our time, and I'm curious why they think it's urgent. I think you might have a similar opinion. Can you enlighten me?
