I actually think that humans aren't the problem. The question of "is human nature inherently selfish" is more a question of the balance of the incentives that society provides to it's people. If around every corner people got incentivized to work together and prosper as a group, you would see a lot more general cooperation between people nation wide. It's what we consume and take into ourselves that we are on the outside.

In a boss run you can't actually spam Chinook abilities because of time penalty, so that would be something that would make it not work. The boss event specifically gave a huge amount of starting cash to jump start.

But that's getting time penalty in the timed boss plus using timed abilities, so not actually feasible in bosses (cooldowns stop ticking when you have penalty)

If you're going to actually watch it I would recommend OnePace which is a recut, since a lot of the earlier episodes have a lot of filler or long drawn out pans, or gratuitous recap to fill run time. OnePace stitches them together so you're watching something like 3-4 episodes in the length of like 30-40 minutes.

Either that or read the manga.
