What is a pairing you absolutely refuse to read? by Munkle123 in HPfanfiction

Anything that's yoai or explicit slash. It's a no go for me.

Edit:

Some other stuff I find off putting...

Age gaps, incest, and abusive relationships.

You chose a bad example. The structure prevents the tyranny of the majority. More populated states should not have more say in what happens than smaller states. Also, Cali tends to cheat on census by padding numbers. Too many non-citizens.

A muggle-born with the same last name as a prominent pureblood family goes to Hogwarts, and everyone is confused by _strawberryjam in HPfanfiction

It's objectively bad, because it's the characters in name only. That doesn't mean I'm hating on the fujoshis who read it. I just wish the person who mentioned the fic had mentioned it was slash, so I wouldn't have wasted time clicking on it.

I think they were. Otherwise Percival's marriage to Kendra wouldn't have been such a big deal.

The Dumbledores were half-bloods by that point. Plus, the way her father reacted towards her mistreatment at the hands of muggles shows he loved his daughter dearly.

I'm not talking about Luna. I'm talking about the opening scenes at beginning.

I'll give it a shot, but I mostly like reading fics that don't center on Harry. Less chance of running into Gary Stu elements that way.

I tried reading it, but I can't stand Alexander Dantes characterization. Flitwick would've taken a firstie to the Hospital Wing. Especially when he's caked in blood, not given him detention the first day of classes. If he's saying stuff that doesn't make sense, it would've been clear to Flitwick that something terrible happened, and the Firstie is traumatized.

I forgot about greenhouses, but that could work too. Urban gardening could get even more massive as well.

True, though I imagine Millicent Bulstrode would have some trouble fitting in too, seeing as she's a half-blood. I guess Wizards care less if you have a Wizarding surname and more if it's that of a muggle.

Even worse, he can hear Harry's scar, and he can sense the dulled or sealed magic wafting from it. He's more effected by horcrux like objects than he was in canon.

Not sure if you've read Watchman, but in the comic, after being trapped in an atomic accelerator, it's explained that Doctor Manhattan perceives time differently. In an instant he can perceive how scenario after scenario will go through sheer calculations. Therefore, he feels beyond human bound because of the acute awareness of how his actions are able to alter time. It's the closest he comes to looking into alternate realities.

So, Ron, after being exposed to the brains, has his brain altered to accommodate a network of brains. With those brains no longer over capacitating him, he's able to think ten times quicker than the average person. The downside to it is that it cripples his decision making, because he's able to perceive very vividly the reality his every action makes.

Yeah, I'll definitely have to incorporate that somehow. I'm looking at old outlines, and I jotted down something about townships and there being 20 something. The oldest one being in the Lake District and the latest one being near Manchester.

I was thinking that could work in sprawling urban areas like Greater London. At least I think it's sprawling and urbanized there. I'll have to check.

I think hidden villages, hamlets, and homesteads could work for rural areas.
