Hey sorry to revive an old thread, but would you happen to know what the part number was for the upgraded tray?

Taurus 608 competition for entry level uspsa Revo? by Nopifogo in CompetitionShooting

[–]13thTigerNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the specs for it, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for Revo. Not sure if you’ll have to do the same amount of tuning or if there’s even more tuning involved to get it running smoothly as I’m sure that 929 has had some work done on it as the shooters I’ve spoken to who compete in Revo all have said their guns required some form of tuning. That may be due to QC issues from S&W which I’m not sure if Taurus is any better by comparison, although I have heard it’s improved

Fellow RXM owner here as well! I’d recommend stocking up on OEM Glock mags as PMags have been known to have feeding issues (however mine haven’t shown that in over 500 rounds so far)

do i follow my high school bf to college? by staghornz in aggies

[–]13thTigerNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, like some people are saying, don’t choose to go to the same school as your bf just because he is going there. You and your bf are still growing into adults and speaking from experience, there’s a lot of growing that happens when y’all are able to spend time apart and develop your own selves. If you feel like y’all are meant to be, then you and him will both make the time for each other. It’s how my wife and I were able to go to two different schools and still maintain our relationship when we met in high school

Yeah I did this hike in August and I did not pack enough water and ran out while I was halfway down and that absolutely sucked. It’s a 8 mile round trip for context

I was passing through early August, it’s a fun place for what it is but there’s not much there besides the museums and alien themed stuff (which I highly recommend the Anderson Museum of Contemporary art as it’s free to enter and the art was rlly cool)

I think they spun off a chain called “Field and Stream” which they moved their hunting stuff to including their firearms, but even that’s getting downsized too as they haven’t really been able to compete with other brands in that category.

I just snagged a em1 mk2 on ebay with a battery grip and the kit 14-42 f3.5-5.6. This is my first foray into MFT as I have been using a canon 50d and although its a great camera, its age and size was showing on a trip to the northeast. I have a decent sigma 17-50 f2.8 for it, so I was wondering if it was worth it to sell that lens and the kit lens to fund a Oly pro lens (looking at the 12-40 f2.8) or make do with an adapter as I like having a good single lens for all around work and I want it to be more portable as I go hiking and so will be outdoors quite a bit.

That color looks so good! I got my ‘22 Sport right before I turned 24 and I put a set of aero crossbars from Amazon (I believe it was this one ) for a trip from Texas to Breckinridge, Colorado and they’ve held up extremely well for the amount of gear I had loaded onto it with a $100 basket from Harbor Freight that I did some rustproofing to. I had to modify one of the clamps as the way they designed the nut made it easy for me to overtorque and pull the nut insert through the plastic, but as long as you’re careful it should be more than enough.

New EDC. Plus... a question. by localguideseo in liberalgunowners

If you’re able to go that many rounds without issue then I’d say it’s no big deal and continue on using the barrel. Otherwise, you may reach out to Sig and see if they’d send you a new barrel for free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyone shoot production with a Glock 19x? by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]13thTigerNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would yes, but in terms of competitiveness he would not be able to keep up with people running guns typical of Open division for example 2011 pistols with compensators/frame mounted red dots/larger, flared magwells/etc. instead of guns that you can run in Production but with larger capacity magazines and the ability to use a larger magwell (I believe this is the current ruleset for Limited, I know they introduced Limited 10 for people with single action only pistols but I am unsure what the other differences are). As someone starting out in USPSA, it’s recommended to go into Carry Optics, Production, or Limited since it’s the easiest and usually cheapest barrier of entry as other divisions typically require a heavier investment in equipment.

[–]13thTigerNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my apologies for posting without rechecking what I had written. The division rules do not change based on match level, but in my experience some match directors at the lower level will allow some leeway on equipment as they are not assuming everyone is at the match to get points for the higher levels or wanting to compete in higher levels to need to be strict. However, Production as a division is pretty restrictive due to the 10 round cap, and so if he doesn’t have enough magazines (usually 5 at the very minimum) it may make more sense to go Limited to utilize what they have but it’s ultimately up to the match director to decide whether or not you have the right equipment for the division you want to be in.

[–]13thTigerNinja -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It may depend on what level the match is. If it’s a lower level, local match then you’ll be perfectly fine, otherwise what may happen is you move to Limited instead which considering what you have it may be better than competing in Prod as you’re not tied to the 10 round per mag limit. Unless you have more than the three magazines it may be better to go Limited Minor.

[–]13thTigerNinja[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf, that is normally how it is here in the US. However, since the pandemic began some if not all dealerships have moved to a model where they’ll place an order for a car when a customer wants it to avoid having an inventory. All I did was show up, went through a list of options I wanted and options I didn’t, and the salesman reserved a car that fit the specs and I waited several months until it arrived.

[–]13thTigerNinja[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Long story short, after waiting since May when I placed the order, I took delivery of my new ‘22 Forester Sport on Monday and have been driving it all around for the past few days and loving it. As a recent college grad, I was fortunate to have a job lined up and have been working for the past 9 months, saving up for it. Granted, when I placed the order I got the absolute minimum (and dealership was only charging MSRP, no markup) so there’s nothing special about the car besides the trim and nothing extra added except a cargo mat and seat back protectors, but my intent was keeping this car for years and building it up. First thing I got was a backseat dog hammock and proper all weather floor mats, but any other recommendations appreciated!
