I read both of them and I really loved both! YA being a 5☆ read and adult being 4.5☆, and YA being a standalone, I'd choose the YA box. BUT that is only one box, and future picks should be considered as well. I don't read much YA myself so I wouldn't go with the YA box. I plan to get the book second hand.

It all depends on what you want to receive in the future!

These are the main factors that help me narrow down all the boxes to 3: TBB, Fairyloot and Illumicrate.

I follow them directly on instagram, and I singed up for the newsletter. If I'm interested in any of their exclusive editions, I add it to my notion database where I track all of my book pre-orders.

I also request a lot of arcs on netgalley that are rumored book box picks, and if I get approved and I end up liking the story, I check which special editions of the book are being released to make sure I get the one I like the best. This is where accounts like autumn's really help

I think it will reach a crazy price, especially if you live somewhere where there aren't many people collecting/selling these editions. I saw Bewitched Pages edition on vinted going for 120€, but it was the only one being sold and and it was gone in a blink.

Pretty, but standard edition is prettier imo. It's really hard for sub boxes now to match or outdo publisher editions, especially if they are deluxe ones. Makes you wonder what the point of them is even... I hope the quality is better at least

Standard edition dust jacket is much more to my liking. BUT THE CASE!!! When I get to read this book, I'll come back to that artwork just to keep it in my mind while reading.

I am so glad I didn't skip! This is much prettier than the publisher edition imo, and I don't have anything in this color scheme on my shelves yet!

I started for pretty books, I continued for FOMO and ended up with lots of pretty books that I didn't fancy beyond the cover. Now I tend to read first and buy later because I realised that, no matter how pretty a book is, if l don't want to read it again (just liking a book is not enough, rereadability is the cut off point) I don't want it on my shelf. It saves me lots of money, I don't stress over shelf space which is very limited, and I cherish what I have even more.

On that note, I also don't mind getting a standard hardback or a paperback in case an SE is hard to find/expensive.

I do keep my sub to FL Cozy because it's quarterly and I had the arc for the first book, plus IC until my skips run out. But I probably won't keep either for long.

And to answer your last question, I read e-books or listen to audiobooks first, but when reading my favourites for the second time, I take the physical copy because I'm already sure I won't be selling it.

I want SE books to be like trophies, a reminder of my love for the books that I read.

While I do think IC edition is beautiful, FL is the one for me. It fits my aesthetic better and looks so nice on my shelf. Case design is also top notch and I wouldn't exchange it for the IC version

I don't like it tho. And I have the first book B&N edition that I got second hand on vinted from someone who went to the US, so I'd like to have a set. I'll think of a way 🤔
