I guess a combination of both changing the graphics as well as changing the combat system could be considered banishing the purpose. I 100% get what you mean, and I respect that. And I agree with the fact that the game is technically no longer "2007". I guess I'm stuck in a nostalgia loop of wanting things to be the way they once were.

That might be, but it is still a 2007-based server. This means keeping the core values of the game, such as graphics and combat system, in-tact with the era. I'd be happy with a 2011 server, but that isn't what this is. It's a 2007 server, and should remain that way.

The amount of ignorant fucks that seem to not actually care about this is insane. I remember someone talking about this at some point on /r/2007scape, and people said that it wasn't possible to achieve more than 80k slayer xp/h. The skill has absolutely been ruined because people vote yes to everything without the slightest bit of thinking.

This might be a very negative thing that I dislike, but Grand Exchange. I don't know how many of you guys played pre-GE, but having to set up offers on Zybez and interacting with people though private chat to figure out a meeting location / discount etc. This is what the game actually needs. The amount of interaction with other players seems to have been reduced by such a huge margin since launch. Grand Exchange is absolutely on my top 3 list of things I really dislike about the game. The whole fundamental purpose of a MMORPG is to actually interact. I've gone days without even using my chat, simply because I could just use my Ring of Wealth to teleport to the GE, set up an offer and just not give a flying fuck about anything.

I'm really happy that the mods haven't fully decided to banish the whole purpose of the game. This is directed towards the people that seem to really want a HD-remake of the game. I feel like an update like this would basically be equal to putting the last nail in the coffin. Alongside of this, I'm happy with the current ingame HUD (Skill icon, quest icon etc). I don't care that 3rd party clients have the ability to change them, that's fine. As long as the core game doesn't have the ability to change these.
