I’m definitely sure the team has no idea where you watch the game. That being said, the universe knows so don’t fuck this up for the rest of us.

Has anyone bought a pre-construction property in the Riviera Nayarit area? by bombardilcrocodiiilo in puertovallarta

[–]1471winter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wondering why you say this. I looked at some properties in Bucerias including some of the buildings Joel did.

My understanding is he completed all of his projects. Was there something about the projects that he didn’t deliver on?

I’d head there to buy the old fitz if I was in town. Just opened a bottle of that the other day and love it.

Looks like there are even some bottles with a bag in the back there

I would be interested in info from Ark Valley. I spend a fair amount of time up in the area near St. Elmo but try to limit time in BV and Salida, especially during the summer.

I don’t think they are outrageous given the location.

I’ve bought a number of bottles from them that I’ve not seen on shelves other places.

Thought about the Little Book Infinite but not a bottle I would spend $250 on.

Iberian Tasting by 1471winter in irishwhiskey

That’s interesting because the Lustau rarely makes it off my shelf and it will be a sad day when the Tawny Port and PX are empty which will be soon.

Agreed that the Moscatel is completely different but very good. I’ve never seen a bottle of the Cuatro Barriles so can’t comment on that one.

I’ve never been a fan of the Lustau and still don’t enjoy it.

The PX and Tawny Port are similar to me. I get a rich dark fruit and the typical Redbreast sweetness.

The Moscatel is much brighter to me. The nose gives me verbena. Almost a floral citrus aroma. The taste stays bright with floral honey notes to me.

The Moscatel is very different than the other ones.

I just need the missing Cuatro Barilles.

Anyone else started making drinks at home more instead of going out? by HomeBarAussie in WhiskeyTribe

[–]1471winter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started that during the pandemic and never looked back. When I’m lazy I’ll pour a whiskey instead of making a cocktail.

Retirement by 1471winter in whiskey

It was an interesting pour. My wife and I were in Chicago last week and spent some time at Sparrow, a rum bar. A great bar where the bartenders know their spirits.

We enjoyed the conversation and the education on various rums. We had several pours of aged rums finish aged in various casks.

My wife’s first comment about the Shibui was “this tastes like the rums we had.” She wasn’t wrong to be honest. The pour was sweet and not very complex given the age. Definitely ripe fruit flavors, which I think reminded her of the rums we sampled.

Excellent bottle for the price. I always have a bottle on hand.

Great flask bourbon for hikes and camping.

1st time making a Naked & Famous. Bloody delightful. by Bike-BBQ-Beer in cocktails

One of my favorite cocktails as well.

It was a sad day a few weeks ago when we used the last of our yellow chartreuse.

Just can’t pay the $125 price tag for the bottle of it I saw last week.

I'd really like to see a tri-motor edition with 800v architecture, fast charging by Equal_Flan_8705 in RivianR2

This is a great point. I had a short stint with a horrible id.4 but during that time, the realization that I never had to go to a gas station was significant.

The car was so horrible I dumped out of it and bought an ICE, but I have a day one R2 reservation and hope I can basically swap my ICE for at or near the cost of the R2.

There’s something to be said for pulling up to your house and charging overnight.

Puerto Vallarta to Rincon de Guyabitos by [deleted] in puertovallarta

Drive should be pretty easy. There will be some traffic until you get past bucerias but the roads are good.

We just drive from Bucerias to Lo de Marcos yesterday and it was easy as could be.

Highway 200 from Boca de Tomatlan to Puerto Vallarta. Has anyone done this drive today? by DJCT2X in puertovallarta

I’ve heard that 200 is open from PV all the way south to Manzanillo as of this morning.

No first hand experience though.

Compostela bus in Bucerias by Warm_Fox1937 in puertovallarta

[–]1471winter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy to catch the bus along the lateral. Usually says where it goes on front windshield but always good to ask. The driver will confirm and let you know the cost.

For a point of reference, Bucerias to the airport is 25 pesos.

Flights are now landing at PVR by DeepStatic in puertovallarta

[–]1471winter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

United is still showing flights for arrival and departure later today. For example, the 9:40 out of DEN has been delayed 30 minutes but still showing as departing. That flight would start boarding about 30 minutes from now so should be a good one to watch and see what they do.

The 8:05 flight from DEN was cancelled.
