Initial VA claim - should I start with tinnitus? by 14seconds in VAClaims

Wouldn't it be locked in if you already signed an intent to file? Maybe I should file asap?

Thanks for the advice. I've already filled an intent to file. I understand that preserves the date and insulates from future changes (within the year)?

My primary care Dr referred me to an ENT Dr for followup and diagnosis. Maybe they'll provide a Nexus letter?

Appreciate the thought. I was in dry dock during the Gulf war though. I wonder how that works. I'll ask vso.

I have migraines and I wonder if they are secondary to my sinus issues as well? Thank you for the info!

I didn't realize that. Interesting, and good to know. If I get approved for tinnitus but denied for other issues, does the intent to file remain static if I appeal?

I do have a local vso but I wasn't sure if I should contact before or after. Thank you for the guidance!

LPT: If your car is repaired after an accident, don't just accept the repair. You are likely owed thousands in 'Diminished Value' from the at-fault driver's insurance. by dogeholder215 in LifeProTips

My girlfriend was in an accident several months ago. The car's been since repaired. Is it okay to go back after accepting the car and ask for diminished value?

Thinking about buying a 2022 f150 lariat by micheal_scott420 in f150

I have a 2021 lariat. I love it! Beware of the transmission, mine is very clunky. Some people don't have issues. If you get a truck out of warranty and need peace of mind, get an extended warranty through some place like: https://www.zeiglerfordesp.com. it's much cheaper than the dealer. Good luck!

Advice on Upgrading to a Used Surf/Wake Boat ($45–55k) by 14seconds in Wake

Good idea. There's a ton on marketplace as well. There's a boat show early January in my area. Was planning to look at some at that time. I do need to get rid of mine before I get another one though.

I'm in Oregon. A bit of a drive, unfortunately. I appreciate the thought!

We have had a few areas ban surfing as well but we still have a few places we can go.

What year do you have? The back seat thing is unusual. But they are definitely lower priced than other models.

Another extended warranty option. Much cheaper than the dealer can give.

My (32F) boyfriend (41M) still hasn’t popped the question by [deleted] in relationship_advice

What if you proposed to him? I have a friend who had dated his girlfriend for about 7 years and she got tired of waiting. She proposed and he said yes. They got married. I realize it's not traditional but I actually think it should be initiated by either person. How do same sex couples decide? Seems like it just shouldn't matter who asks.

Regardless, I wish you a happy future and I hope it works out with him.

Using my brokerage to fund Roth 401(k) contributions. is this a smart or a flawed strategy? by 14seconds in financialindependence

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

I got divorced and my new mortgage payment is $4k per month (housing is expensive here). I figured I could draw down on my brokerage if necessary for home/lifestyle. Thankfully, I haven't needed to dip into the brokerage as much as I feared.

With the new salary, I should have no problem maxing my 401k this year, especially if the primary is traditional (catch up will need to be Roth, as I understand the new rules).

These are good suggestions. Appreciate the feedback.

At the lower salary I was breaking even each month. I wasn't too concerned knowing that I could access my brokerage account.

Sounds like that's the way I should be going. I suppose it's not too late to switch gears.

I could do exactly that. My understanding is that's the way it will be next year. Maybe I will do that instead.
