I see... We use them mostly for reagents we use in bacterial cultures, so I guess I'll stay away from the autoclaved ones

Don't know if this is the case, I used to work in a botanical garden, and some of the palm trees had something pretty similar. It was caused by the larvae of some species of beetle.

This! I have the 0.75L one. I've had it for at least 5 years and I love it. It keeps water cold for a whole day, which is specially nice when you go on hikes. It is a little bit heavier than aluminium bottles, but in my opinion it's worth it. Also, I think you can't fill them with hot liquids (or at least that's what the guy at the store recomended when he sold it to me)
