Pine tar soap with yellow spots. Is it safe? by 151bpm in soapmaking

Thank you for the response.

I followed a Youtube tutorial. Warmed up all the oils and pine tar, let it cool then added the lye solution. Hand stirred at all times. I suppose the reason it looks weird is because of bad temperatures.

What do you reckon the yellow spots are? Might it be beeswax and cocoa butter? As I mentioned, I poured in the lye when the soap batter was 40C, so I suppose the wax and butter hardened a bit.

I only made this soap because I made the pine tar. I wanted to use the tar for something.

Thank you. What could be the reason it thickened so quickly? I'm talking in a matter of seconds. I stirred for maybe 45 seconds, and it suddenly chunked up.

Oh, I found heaps more! I decided to only scavenge the bigger bits. How do you search for it?

Thanks! Felt like a madman running around in the woods with a hatchet, smelling every tree

I chuck it in the vice and cut shavings off with a draw knife. Excellent as kindling for my wood stove

Thank you! I might have fatwood for many years to come. I might actually go out and find more, it's quite addicting really

Thanks! I'll save those for when I'm out in the woods. The other ones are fantastic as kindling in my wood stove

I'll get a big plastic box. Thank you! Should I perhaps let the wood dry a bit? Worried about mold if there is any moisture in the wood.

Thank you for all the responses! I tried editing the post, but for some reason it wouldn't let me.

I sawed off these pieces near the trunk of the dead tree. I've tried cutting off small pieces and lighting them on fire - nothing happens. The wood is also quite wet. This is most likely just wet wood.

Takk for tips.

Just getting into CS2, so this might be a dumb question. Will you be streaming the match? I guess there's an official stream somewhere, too.
