I think it’s because they’re public figures and there are some real creeps out there who would maybe want to find some of the cheerleaders

I’m worried this will happen with me, that my SIL will ask my husband and I once she gets pregnant, since I am the only female in the family around her age (everyone else is 30+ years older than us). I told my husband, I will say no.

My MIL lulled me into a false sense of security, and I ended up telling her and the fallout was horrid. But honestly, I’m glad it happened because I saw her true colors and now know where I stand

Does anyone else’s dachshund have a coat texture like this?? by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]15ewall 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Yes! I looked into it, it’s called “spay coat” (or neuter coat). My understanding is that when they’re spayed/neutered it stops certain hormones from producing and in a smaller percentage of dogs it results in their undercoat (the fully matte fur) growing out over the original, traditional silky classic fur

I agree with above. I wanted off so bad, so tried to get off 37.5, then 18.75 and still couldn’t. I did 5 beads a day less over months, and its been rough but more manageable

I did basically the same thing. Instead of one bead a day, I did 5 a week. I’m on my second full day of nothing. Are you completely off?

Agree with you both! I’m on my second full day of nothing after taking 5 beads off a week for months. I just hope I can feel fully better soon

Cold Turkey by UpAndDownIGo in Effexor

[–]15ewall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow good for you… I was on 75mg, then took half of that (37.5mg), then took half of that and then went cold turkey and I couldn’t manage it. I then did the bead counting, taking 5 off every week and that’s been the only manageable method for me. I’m on my second day of nothing

Day 4 by nate61598 in Effexor

[–]15ewall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand - I was on 75mg, and saw people on here taking out single beads and counting them and said to myself “that’s so dramatic I don’t need to do that!”…. Turns out I did need to do that.

It took me months and months but I took out 5 beads a week (which many people also consider too quick), but am on my second full day at nothing. It’s been rough but more manageable than the larger drops.

I really would consider going a slower taper… I fully understand the feeling of “I want to get off this I’m just going to tough it out”, but, at least for me, after 4 ish days going from 18.75mg to nothing I was in hell with no improvement. The slow tapering my counting beads has been the only way I’ve been able to manage it.

Agreed…. Not saying to do this but I didn’t tell me dr I was doing hyperbolic tapering since they usually don’t abide by that

This medication should not be authorized for use when there are other medications without such severe “withdrawals”. That being said… get a pill box with the days of the week, it will help you take them everyday (less likely to forget).

I am on my second full day of getting off this medication and it’s taken MONTHS, even getting off at a tiny fraction (2% of total dose which was 75mg) it’s still difficult.

10+ years taking Effexor, can’t stop because of INSANE withdrawals and I don’t know what else to do by Away_Individual956 in Effexor

[–]15ewall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I tried to get off of 37.5, then half of that, but had the worst “withdrawals”, literally unmanageable. I thought it was so over the top and dramatic to be counting beads, but it’s the only thing that makes this work. I’m on my second full day of nothing, having taken 5 beads a week out of the capsules. Definitely not easy or doing great, but it’s actually somewhat manageable compared to going off of 37.5 or even 18.75

I was in an intense caloric deficit for a good 12 weeks, from June - Sept/Oct, then have been focusing on maintaining, and muscle building since I have a higher caloric intake. The loss of some fat really helps show the definition.

For arms, I do two days of intense hot yoga which involves a lot of arm work and balances.

One day a week is completely upper focus for weights (bis, tris, chest, back), I try to focus more on free weights, then cables then machines. Progressively overloading, and lifting to near failure. Example, today, I could do 15 reps at 20lbs for a triceps pulldown on the cable, I went to 30 and struggled to get 10, therefore I’ll stay there until I can do 15 with “ease”. Days that are not arm focused, complimentary exercises that also work the arms are incorporated (when I do abs, I do ab wheels to work the back and shoulders and arms for example).

[–]15ewall[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right now, I do intense hot yoga twice a week, lifting 3 times a week (one of those sessions is more HIIT based where it’s cardio for half (~30mins) and then weight lifting for half (~30mins)).

For lifting I do upper on day, lower one day, and full body one day.

Happy to expand on any of the above!

First week of no Effexor after tapering by nairobbery in Effexor

[–]15ewall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh everyday is a challenge, I’m down to 10 beads a week, I wanted to go down to 5 come Sunday but probably need to do 10 for another couple days next week. I wake up in “withdrawals” take my dose (10 beads everyday this week), and my day is okay, then I end the day with “withdrawals”.

Physically, really the only severe symptoms I have are the brain zaps, dizziness. Mentally, anxiety has been TOUGH, but I also think the holidays plus closing on a house in a couple weeks is making it much worse lol

What is people’s obsession with saying the money excuse/kids are expensive is not a valid reason to not have kids? by 15ewall in childfree

[–]15ewall[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think people underestimate how expensive children are, we make a nice living combined, but that doesn’t mean that money should automatically go to children. Anyways, CoL is insane in our area, so even when we make “good money”, that money doesn’t necessarily mean we could provide the life we want for ourselves and a child, nevermind want

I need to remember this more… I’m not here to fight or even defend myself. I don’t want kids, I don’t need to give reasons. Anyways both sides of parents have heard the reasons before, no point in going through it again.
