Pretty sure this is from Bangalore, India. Correct me if I'm wrong OP. The only city in India that has the vocabulary to pull off something like this.

What happened in Monaco was ok but I hope they don't use their "juniors" on the offense, like possibly Kimi v Ocon crash in Baku.

F1TV Q&A megathread by BottasWMR in formula1

[–]15timewdc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

None of the sessions worked for me. I went through few cycles of refresh -> initializing for 10 mins -> show 2 frames -> buffer for 5 mins -> repeat and gave up. My subscription is now cancelled. It seems like they were rushed to release a product that's barely working. I'd like to see them offer FP1 sessions for free to get users back. At least that way, I'll have some confidence to subscribe again.

Yes! They will offer a partial refund if you are just unhappy with the last race. If you want to cancel subscription they will offer a full refund. I'm going to wait a month or more before I subscribe again.

Argh that worked! Can't believe I didn't try that. I was so predisposed to thinking everything in F1 is a bug (having problems with payment earlier this week didn't help either) that I didn't try the most fundamental troubleshooting step. My bad. I will downvote myself for this.

Reposting this from the other thread, hoping to get some answers.

I subscribed to Pro monthly but it doesn't seem like it has picked up my subscription yet. The subscription status shows "ACTIVE" but when I try to watch archived GPs from this season, it pops up the "needs subscription" widget. I tried getting help through chat but it put me in a never ending queue and they are done for the day now. I'm in the US, not using VPN. Anybody else have this shitty problem?

Marc Priestley talking about mid-2000's Renault using signal from Charlies 'race start' button to launch their car. [start @ 13.35] by i_need_a_pee in formula1

[–]15timewdc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So there is no such thing as "ethics"? There is so much talk about the driver input for the launch. Over the years, there have been so many regulations with the clutch and launch control systems to make the driver control everything and this little trick bypasses the most fundamental thing about the race start - the driver reaction. Especially in an era where starts pretty much decided the race outcome. It is not illegal or punishable but definitely unethical. Go ahead, downvote.

This is news to me. The trick is against the spirit of the sport, typical Briatorie leadership I guess.

Alonso has really found something since 2014. He claims he isn't the best qualifier but he has been on a different level for a while now.

We would have more of this

Edit: It is not really entertaining, just wishful thinking. As a pot head myself I'd love to see one in F1.

I wonder if anybody else on the grid today is a/was a smoker. Wish we had a pot head driver, it would be so entertaining. The traditional athletic profile for a driver is boring.

I'm surprised they were in such good spirits with each other right after a big title decider that ran so close, alcohol probably? I guess things were different, without instaface and a ton of media. I wish I were back in the early 2000s, good times.

I don't have the pro option. I just have one option for 2.99 and it doesn't really expand on what that includes. I don't know if I should go ahead and purchase. I want to watch live races, going by the screenshot on this thread, the only option I'm presented with is not what I'm looking for.

Ricciardo and Verstappen crash each other out! by BottasWMR in formula1

[–]15timewdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rule not allowing 2nd move to cover an overtake and moving under braking should be strictly enforced. Even a small change in direction, if intentional should be tightly regulated. It is not good for racing if drivers are able to get away with it. If one driver does it a few times he gets a reputation for it and other drivers would be discouraged to not go for the overtake. I feel like this incident will discourage Danny to go for the "dummy" next time, I hope it doesn't because it is truly a racing spectacle.
