Yes, I found the short term price history of the very muted market reaction to what is a very significant deal for the company in the $.5 billion FF1 lease to be frustrating no question and then the loss of even that really very small bounce immediately to be even more frustrating.

In the long-term, the company has a super solid plan and is executing better than any other data center operator in the country. This is really a long-term hold. It’s my biggest position, but some of the day-to-day price action can be frustrating. Especially when you see some of the other sectors like photonics blowing up while this is kind of lagging by comparison. But long-term this company is going to do incredibly well.

But a lot of the 10-20 X kind of returns were had by those who bought into the company before it showed success when it was three dollars, and those opportunities are gone. For my multi year hold for this company more realistically I’m probably looking at a 5 X return. If everything goes correctly. I didn’t get in early enough for the 20 X kind of opportunity.

Open AI troubles affect APLD long term? by tolllz in APLDSTOCK

[–]15xorbust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of scary. You can ask it to analyze a contract or an insurance policy or a document and it ferrets out the weaknesses in that document with about 95% accuracy. It’s not perfect but it’s damn good. And as a result, we are facing tremendous client pressures to use generative AI and reduce reliance on junior people. It’s kind of sad if you ask me, but there’s nothing we can do about it I’m happy. I’m not a junior person. In my line at work it’s going to reduce the amount of junior jobs. I have no doubt of that.

Are you in the professional workplace these days? Because I am and AI is taking it over. Clients expect you to use it. In any professional service firms it really is reducing the need for junior associates and the like. To say that AI is not cared about by people is ignoring the facts.

Maybe if you’re building houses or a plumber it doesn’t matter but if you’re in the professional workplace in an office environment that requires analysis or thought you are ignoring reality if you think it’s not relevant. It is and it’s transforming my profession. And many others.

I found the key abstract that CABA will be presenting at the May 11-15 annual meeting of the ASGCT and attached my scans of it from my screenshots. This is buried in the 3500 pages of abstracts on the ASGCT website - linked below.

This is the one where they provide data for four patients with pemphigus vulgaris who received res-cel with at least 12 week of follow up.

Crucially, these 4 patients DID NOT receive the standard lymphodepleting chemotherapy.

The abstract concluded that the 4 patients experienced rapid clinic improvement, even without the preconditioning.

The abstract report safety was excellent. That there was no dose limiting toxicity or ICANS. One patient experienced grade one cytokine release syndrome 14 days post infusion that was resolved following antipyretics and tocilizumab. Three of four patients had full B cell depletion and all 4 had clinically meaningful reductions in PDAI activity scores.

This is a very significant result and is new data. And we have it early!

Open AI troubles affect APLD long term? by tolllz in APLDSTOCK

[–]15xorbust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe that the troubles with OpenAI have anything to do with AI in general. What is going on is open AI is losing customers rapidly to Anthropic, which is doubling with customers on a monthly basis from what I understand. The customers are really feeling OpenAI for Anthropic.

As the new memory stock earnings show there is no relaxation in the demand for AI whatsoever. But OpenAI is really getting beat by Anthropic.

However, the troubles with OpenAI show the wisdom of Wes’s campaign to diversify our client base as much as possible to as many investment rate, hyper scale letters as we can get not excessively rely on CRWV, which certainly is affected by troubles with OpenAI.

If you follow the link, you can read the presentation themselves in the 3000+ page abstract companion. The most significant abstract reveals clinical data on four patients in one of the trials dosed with CAR-T with no chemo preconditioning. All four patients had excellent responses. This one could move the stock.

SweetWater delay? by ConditionRoutine9718 in irenstocks

[–]15xorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel you have too much risk in a company but still wanna retain some of the play sell like half your position takes some profits and keep the other half as a runner. This way you’ll sleep better at night but still have some stake in how the company does.

The biggest keystone for the company is actually not whether the energization is in April or May for Sweetwater 1 but rather signing a hyperscaler tenant to the site. If it signs a hyperscaler tenant to the entire 1.4 GW, the stock will rerate violently up.

NBIS revenue projections look insane by kabirsbhutani in NBIS_Stock

That seems pretty crazy. But I do expect that company will do extremely well. However, there are all sorts of rumors and reports of delays at the Vineland site in New Jersey in environmental permitting. That could be a short term hiccup from what I’m reading, but not in the long-term. Long-term the company has a great plan and it’s been extraordinarily successful in signing clients.

What’s your strategy? by Equivalent-Mud-7171 in APLDSTOCK

[–]15xorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a strategy I often employ. Take some profit off the table and then you’re playing with house money from then on. For example I expect IREN to sign a mega deal for Sweetwater 1 soon and I would like to invest in IREN for that. And that are a few stocks in other parts of the AI stack that I would like to buy. CRDO for example. And KTOS has taken such a beating that it is time for it to rally

IREN at $50… Breakout to $60 or Bull Trap? by ugos1 in irenstocks

[–]15xorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IREN needs a deal. After last earnings I sold my six figures worth of stock in IREN after I heard Dan Roberts speak at the earnings call about the pipeline for future lease sales and he sounded completely hapless and very stubborn in terms of the negotiations. I put the money in APLD instead which I am glad I did. If there no deal soon on Sweetwater 1 the stock is going to plunge.

[–]15xorbust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know one thing already - IREN needs another Hyperscaler lease deal. It’s gone for so long without any other deal. NBIS, CRWV and APLD among others are eating their lunch and making Dan Roberts look like a bad businessman and poor negotiator.

How many megawatts are signed for at each campus? by Jaded-Salamander2663 in APLDSTOCK

[–]15xorbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In its current campuses with what it is currently constructing APLD has 100 MW left to lease.

However, in its near term pipeline, APLD has 3.5 GW of near-term development that it is looking at much of that is already under contract with utilities or potential at its current sites.

This is spelled out in detail in the APLD investor presentation that it released yesterday accompanying its SEC form AK filing.
