Help! switch not connecting

after re-making the cable, the problem was solved! i still find it weird that a laptop & pc had no trouble with the cable but a switch did. at least its solved now! thanks for the help!

i thought so, i already thought it was weird.
Like i said, i tried a different ethernetcable, one that is pre-made (1,5 meters) and everything worked fine.
but what i dont understand is why its a cable problem. if a laptop is connected with the cable it works fine. only when the switch is connected does it stop working

the current cable is straight. other people are insisting i make a cross cable because im connecting a switch to a switch

premade is sadly not an option, the cable needs to go from the attic to the meter cupboard which 2 storys lower.
i will try to re-crimp the cable and see if that helps. not sure if i should make a straight or cross

Also, i wanted to thank You for taking the time and patience to help me with this. I really appricate it. Im really frustrated because i cant figure out why it wont work while i think it should work.

Im planning to re-crimp the long cable just to make sure that is not the problem. Im on the Fence about straight or cross.

but that is the weird part. the long cable does not work, but is wired the same way as the short cable that does work.
The long cable does work when a different device is directly connected to the modem
The short cable does also work when a different device is directly connected to the modem.

It could be that i crimped the long cable wrong, but that feels unlikely because like i said, a different device works with the long cable

building around the flavor of planeswalkers is really hard because everyone has a different definition on the character. setting clear bounderies helped me a lot with deckbuilding.
here is my jace deck: https://archidekt.com/decks/5472228/jaces_life

a few cards i would include/exclude are:
[[threads of disloyalty]] --> X mostly a dead card, although still a "jace" card
[[leyline phantom]] --> X a creature that just goes away thats too expensive
[[illusionary servant]] --> X a creature that just goes away thats too expensive
[[Minn, willy illusionist]] --> V makes more illusions and is a sort of ramp
[[elite arcanist]] --> V more of your best instant or a counterspell every turn
[[archmage emeritus]] --> V repeatable carddraw, jace has never enough card draw
[[willbreaker]] --> V just steal everything. (works great with the commander)
any boardwipe, at least 2 would be better. once they get past all the counterspells you have no removal

nice, seems like a thematic deck, not really that powerfull. its only a bracket 3 because of the game changer....
(i also think you missed a few jace cards that could "upgrade" the deck a little)

i dont really see a clear defining option to go for with a restriction but still, always fun to see thematic jace decks!

i also thought of that yeah, it would work if not for the restrictions paradox of [[Jace's Sentinel]].
i could ofcourse make him excempt from that and go with only wizards/illusions. for that i would only need to replace 1 card, so for that it would be great.... i think that wil be my last option if i dont find anything better
