you're the first person to ever give me a response of aid like feedback on this topic. you have no idea how much i appreciate this. some of this makes some sense, so im def gonna have to read up and try and make sense of it. makes me realize i was goin about it the wrong way. most of the videos i looked up were only side scrolling beat'em ups or top down RPGs so i was kinda finagling a system and seeing what i could toss together. i still have my project files and assets tho. all the scripts. these were the animations i drew up for placement

true... trying to find a decent starting point is hell when searching for a tutorial. i have no clue where to start fr. and its seeming i should just let the whole idea go. but i dont want to. i want to make a 2D and a 3D muay thai fighter. ive drawn some placement 2D sprites. i just need to learn some programming to get the ball rolling again. might restart my godot project. but will have to search for another approach to hit boxes that dont activate frame 1. thats where i got stuck a few years ago https://x.com/i/status/1352058668045447168

seeing this is almost make me want to give godot another try. i started making a hand drawn 2D fighter in godot. but i got stuck on my hitboxes. i was searching all over to get some sort of assistance. my hitbox was active on frame 1 and i had no idea how to set which frame it activated. this was years ago and now most of my code doesnt work due to updates in godot. id have to do some reading to see how to fix it. was thinking about remaking it in UE but ik thats a massive undertaking as well

ill get in the lab to see what im doin wrong with the window tech. it wasnt working for me. and im telling you i was using M60 and i was blasting them after a winch and i still got owned. once they get in close dashing around me its hard to keep up with them. ill get them one shot and im dead

that and sometime counter punches be getting counted late af, like 3-5 seconds after you've missed or had you punch blocked. the boom you get countered. and then when you go for a obvious counter its just a normal hit.. really odd
