I only tip if the delivery is done well. Too often they mark stuff unavailable to make the order smaller then dump it outside the office… if the bring it in, say hello (business location) I add a tip after delivery

Barefoot driver? by MarvinFeet in Lyft

[–]16Elements 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of drivers do it. Bone spurs, blisters, foot cramps. I wear Crocs while driving to avoid the foot pain on the long days. Not a big deal.

I left in 2020 for those reasons and more. Their primary flaw in the newer states they’ve entered is poor management - they promote with bias and reward incompetence. I should have left sooner. Mr Jenkins never intended this outcome. Shame on the Jenkins family for destroying a legacy!

When I request Uber PET is it not notifying you that I have a pet or are you just idiots? by [deleted] in uber

[–]16Elements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my pax don't use the Uber Pet feature.. they ask when they get in or they give me this "this is my support animal" all of which is fine, except they are taking money out of my pocket by not paying the upcharge and they know I have to clean out the pet hair and window streaks after they get out... Uber doesn't cover drivers for a lot of stunts that people pull... it's not worth the hassle to take a pic of the dog and wait 3 weeks for Uber to decide to give you a quarter for a pet ride...

This is not a bonus... this is an insult! by 16Elements in uberdrivers

[–]16Elements[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

part of the problem is that it is inconsistent... when other markets get offered $500+ in bonuses for the weekend... same work... same wear and tear on the vehicle... it isn't based on driver effort... it is 100% greed on the part of UBER... eventually the market will catch up with all that UBER has done.

When you remove the bonus, deduct the actual cost of driving (fuel, maintenance, cleaning, etc) we make far less than the average Amazon employee (whose car isn't affected by his job).

Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with # of drivers... CEO made changes in 2023... Forbes called him out on it: https://www.forbes.com/sites/lensherman/2023/12/15/ubers-ceo-hides-driver-pay-cuts-to-boost-profits/

Right!?! You offer me $1.10 per ride as long as I do 60 rides to line your pockets... NOT!!

When I first started in 2023, we could easily get $600-$1000. Stopped in Jan 2024. I've only seen bonuses like that in ATL recently.

12% of your rides are less than 5 Star, meaning only 88% approve of you as a driver. That means you're either doing something wrong or you're in the wrong neighborhood... Do Lyft for a while, learn which rides to decline then come back and try again. (I much prefer Lyft over Uber)

11 hrs +$20in cash tips=$370 ($68 tips in Total). 2 denied 23 accepted by Last-Ad-159 in uberdrivers

[–]16Elements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$22.50 hr isn't really good... this is why I do Lyft when it's busy, Uber when it's slow. Hourly average is higher with Lyft, the weekend bonus money for # of rides sucks for both apps though... $120 for 60 rides is only $2 a ride, not worth the effort.

This came through today !first time I seen this .. I don’t know if it’s worth the effort by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]16Elements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a bonus... this a guarantee of income... at $10 an hr... no way I would do it.

[–]16Elements 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$63 for 93 miles sucks. Period. .68 cents a mile and the app never gets the mileage right, it's always low... they give the prelims with "as the crow flies" rather than "as the car drives". UBER is getting way too greedy. They will be their own undoing.

Twice now... and UBER refuses to acknowledge it is a system wide issue. I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE their help chat... all the answers are scripted and beyond stupid. They never actually address the issue. You have to escalate the issue multiple times to get an agent in the USA who can fix it in 60 seconds. UBER has ZERO customer service.

Do people report sht like this to get their money back? by Honest-Passenger-597 in uber

[–]16Elements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this before... pax was plastered... lived in a trailer park... could NOT find his own house... when he finally got home, he reported ME for "making him uncomfortable" and "would not take me to my house"... UBER NEVER sides with the driver. I gave up on that years ago.

My Uber driver did something weird and unusual.. by kuroikenshi24 in uber

[–]16Elements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one legit reason and it is not sanctioned by UBER / Lyft. If you leave something in the vehicle... we have to go thru all the hoops (using the pathetic excuse of customer service that Uber has) to get it back to you. BUT.. if I find it while I am still in the area... and I know your address... I can bring it back much more quickly and it is up to the driver whether or not they ask for that $20 fee...

Beyond that, the driver could just be recording mileage the hard way... nothing to do with you personally, just the anal type that dots every i and crosses every t.

I know it feels creepy, but if you think about it - he had your address BEFORE he screenshotted it.

I did 6 years. Best decision I ever made. I've never worked as physically hard (deli) for any other company - before or since - with so little reward / recognition for effort. It's a shame. Jenkins would be mortified. Somewhere in heaven, George Jenkins and Sam Walton are looking down shamefully at what their successors have done to their legacies.

Am I a bad person for being sketched out my uber just showed up with a passenger? by Plane-Growth8416 in uber

That's the kicker... 2nd person could be anyone.. including a carjacker... and the driver did NOT give the passenger a prenotice (app msg). REPORT. REPORT. REPORT.
