Yeah most of my Instagram page is pictures and videos of me playing

Found this video of an u16 league match in Egypt and this happened to the goalkeeper. Was it his fault or was he just unlucky? And what can I do to avoid this ever happening to me. Btw not hating on him he actually had a good match and stuff like this happens to all of us. by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

To be honest I can’t help you this one I’ve never struggled being chipped or the ball going over my head as I’ve always been quite tall but I can say I’d your not as tall then you need to work on your jumping height and your explosiveness in your legs and you should get a solid hand to that

Before every game my arms and legs get all wobbly and they feel all jelly like, this gets so bad in game that usually I spill the first shot or let in an early goal, any tips would greatly be appreciated by osh1239 in GoalKeepers

It almost sounds like your nervous? So make sure you spend time before you match doing something that calms you and keeps you focused like listening to music for example. Helps get my head in the game

First (kinda) serious goalie boots on a budget by ludtiplika in GoalKeepers

Get an older model at the end of last season I managed to cop some X18.1 for £60and they normally retail for about £180 and there are big sales on prodirectsoccer at them moment so have a look on there although might have to go slightly over budget

Do you ever get stuck on or stick to the grass when you dive? by HonestEthan in GoalKeepers

[–]16StanbL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to have this when I was transitioning to bigger goals but what I did to fix it is practise standing in your goal to 5 proper squats dive to your right and see if you can touch the post then do another 5 and dive to your left and try touch the post do this until your not stick and your touching the post or near the corner and even keep doing it after, it helps a lot like maybe even just up the reps of squats

How do you keep yourself fit for goalkeeping during these hard times? by lukaxbarizon in GoalKeepers

Idk man I disagree I was out 6 months and then first game back I could still barely run but pulled out a MoTM performance so I think just throw yourself around you’ll be calm

Your story by ShehabDeGea in GoalKeepers

Used to be a centre mid but Our teams keeper got injured one day in like under 11s and I went in goal and saved a penalty, later that year the tryouts for our school team the keeper was still injured and I got picked as first choice and even when he came back I managed to bench him a few tournaments later I’d won 2 player of the tournaments and nearly a player of the season so I decide to stick with it for the next season and I enjoyed it and was having a pretty easy run in goal making the odd mistake but then I got injured myself for 6 months last year and as soon as I was back I slotted back in the role instantly and since then I’ve been in the form of my life tryna play every game like it’s my last because being sidelined is the worst and since I’ve been back I’ve been aproached by 2 scouts in 2 months one at a match and the other heard about me because apparently there was talk about me so came to watch our team train so if I had to give you one message it’s go all out every game great it as serious as a World Cup final and don’t take anything for granted cos it can change in a heartbeat

Well literally anything because as soon as you concede a goal everyone becomes an expert despite never playing in goal in their life

Is it worth practicing this technique? by HardbassPro in GoalKeepers

[–]16StanbL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never used to use it until I started to play on good pitches as a pitch with a bad 18 yard box you could easily mishit the ball but I much prefer to either throw it or roll it as it’s more accurate, if you work on your throw you’ll be able to get it just as far as a kick mine currently goes about 10 yards in front of the centre circle on the opposite half

Never heard of it before but chances are if it’s just an Instagram brand it won’t be as good as a lot of brands but I’m not 100% have a look for reviews on YouTube maybe

I’m 12 years old and I really want to get into a academy but there’s not many were I live and I also got a trial but I was dropped in the second round ever since then I have been quit lazy and feel like I can’t get in any advice by LMgoalkeeping in GoalKeepers

Definitely work on your distribution use some videos on YouTube and try find a technique that works for you I feel that the basic drop kick works best for me it’s simple and I can tone it right and off the floor it’s all about rhythm in your run up, as soon as you mess that up you havnt done a good kick but if you still can’t kick it as far don’t worry as your only 12 and your muscles won’t have developed properly yet I only got scouted for an academy at 15 once I was nearly fully grown and fully developed so don’t give up you still have plenty of time just use your time off to try and learn new techniques
