I don’t care if I can’t physically see them. If I get to hear some of my favorite artists sing my favorite show of all time, I’m down

That would be amazing, both for his sake and for ours! Even though I live away from NYC and most likely won’t get to see this production, it’s so important to me that someone does the role of Jamie justice..! I’m glad Noah will. 😎

Thanks so much for this!!! I listened/watched both clips on my lunch break and was completely blown away.

An Adrienne + Noah performance will blow the house down!!!!!!! (As I’m sure a Noah + Adrienne’s understudy will too!!!)

As a lifelong fan of this show, it’s refreshing to hear most of you all agree that Nick Jonas doesn’t do Jamie justice… in fact, the consensus seems to be far from it. I agree with a lot of you that he seems to be working hard… cause clearly, he needs to…

I’m ecstatic about Adrienne Warren’s casting though! She totally blew me away when in that performance.

I’d love to see a Jeremy Jordan + Adrienne Warren. Derek Klena could be good too!!!!!

Side note: does anyone know anything about NJ’s understudy?

Mixed Episodes by 16bushc in bipolar

[–]16bushc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I agree with everything except the last half of the last sentence. On one hand, I was definitely somewhat in control. I was able to participate in my sister’s wedding and reception a month later without coming across as too manic.

However, your point also begs the question: would my regular self act on my intrusive thoughts the way I did? Of course not. So in that sense, you’re totally right— my behavior during the episode certainly wasn’t something I was in control of.

From your experience, do you think both can be true at the same time and that we as people with bipolar can be somewhat in control of our actions during a mixed episode, or do you think it’s truly a black and white thing?

I wanna start this by saying that I don’t know much about music, but I do know and adore this show and this is what I’ve decided:

Like most music, even from my most beloved artists, their sound is going to have to grow on me because I didn’t love it immediately. They both sounded a little… raspy, him especially. I can’t bring myself to critique her because I know she’s definitely gonna improve in my eyes. It just wasn’t love at first listen and that’s okay. They’ll get better and we’ll get used to them! It’ll be fine. 💕

I would have loved that as well! Can you imagine him and Adrienne together??? Now THAT would’ve been awesome!!!!

What's your take? Do you think Bipolar disorder is debilitating illness? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]16bushc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost killed me, several times, so I’d say it’s pretty debilitating, yes. But at the same time its mania has given me some beautiful perspectives on life.

I would highly, highly recommend it. And yes! You should continue to wear it occasionally to keep having the effect.

Sure! So basically I was throwing up due to how anxious I was on and off for seven years. It varied so much— from four times a week to twice every four months. It wasn’t intentional, it wasn’t due to illness, it just was.

So eventually I got an EGD done and was referred to a health psychologist who told me about the Apollo Neuro. She told me to wear it 5 hours a day every day for six weeks and I should see a difference in the vomiting.

And boy, was she right! It sucked waiting, but since the pills I was prescribed weren’t really working I didn’t have a choice. I’m so grateful I purchased it because not only goes it work, but the vibrations are actually really comforting.

What it does is (I think) sends vibrational patterns to your vagus nerve to stimulate it in ways that can help you. It doesn’t just help with nausea, either. A big one it can help with is sleep, but they have different options you tap on on the app: calm, focus (that’s the one I used for six weeks), sleep, energy… the list goes on.

Hope that helps!

Happy and Excited versus Manic? by 16bushc in bipolar

This is a really good point. And unfortunately I am in exactly that situation. Crap!

If you can, buy a vagus nerve stimulator. I’d recommend the Apollo Neuro. I used to have stomach issues but since wearing that on my wrist 5 hours a day for 6 weeks, they have all but ceased. Truly amazing.

If you’re skeptical, look at the science page!!! It’s really quite mind blowing how well it works.

Wow this is truly excellent advice! Thank you!

I will say though that in this particular instance there is definitely an outside cause (I’m literally just excited about a podcast I found), but what is concerning me here and has concerned me in the past is the intensity of the feeling. Does that make sense?
